Apparently there was a non scheduled board of governors meeting on Friday, after that embarrassing game in Moncton I would have to believe they are entertaining the idea of a new coach.

If it happens at least they're being smart about it.
I mean if you're going to admit your last December coaching change didn't work out, why not try to find your next great coach in December. This is usually when they're all available.

This is usually when they're all available. I'm not sure if you're saying to fire the coach or not. Any change, even on an interm basis for a replacement, would be welcomed by a majority of the paying customers I would wager.

Not hard to confirm that at this point. Even the least knowledgeable fans know that the team has issues. The coaching will almost always be the first to take the blame. Deservingly so this time!

I agree. Young players with high skill levels are going to develop no matter where they play. How they behave within a team environment that promotes winning as a group is what will determine how far a lot of them succeed in hockey. We seem to have a team playing an individual style that resembles pond hockey. The result is good numbers but awful results. Through a coaching change or trades we need to see a group committed to the logo on the front not the stats of the name on the back. That's how you lose games 10-5.

Be interesting to see if this has legs or not. If so,would Dumont be wiling to stay on as GM or would he prefer to move on? If the board is reviewing the issue, its good at least to see that they recognize there is a problem. Just hope its not too late to fix the problem.

Agreed. I, for one, would have no issue what so ever with seeing him go. I wouldn't mind however seeing him swallow his pride and stay on as GM. He has done a wonderful job recruiting and drafting to put together what should be a great team. That being said, the results have fell way short of the expectations this year. His coaching and, from what I've heard from banter around the rink, his "this is my team and I'll run it the way I feel" attitude are the shits. Look at the revolving door this year alone with guys leaving or not wanting to come in the first place. This is long overdue.

I remember going to the rink and hearing every second person mentioning how badly they wanted Vincent fired and those that can admit they were wrong wish he was back. I'm mostly annoyed with the timing. They wait until the trade window opens and then dump an extra load on your GMs plate (if it's true). There's nobody available now that won't be available in 6 months, the assistants in CB aren't experienced enough to do anymore on an interim basis that Dumont can't do himself, and it's very unlikely that anyone brought in from outside the organization would only be here on an interim basis. Unless Paul MacLean is going to make a shocking return to Nova Scotia or something like that, I'll be expecting a midseason change to do more harm than good. Just my opinion.

My mind is open to many replacements being viable candidates on an interim basis. The harm has already been done to this year. Returning the same group next year doesn't do much to improve the chances then. A change now could give us a much better idea by June of who can be built around and who can be shipped away. At that point a new full time coach can be brought in. Vincent himself went through some growing pains here. He absolutely should have been fired after 2004 but due to circumstances he was not and it ended up being the best thing for both. I don't see the situation here now being at all like that one though. We would be firing Dumont to salvage our rebuild, not to start a new one.

There definitely needs to be a change somewhere......you have too good of a team to be this low in the standings. Goaltending also sucks and should be addressed soon. Sullivan had bad numbers in Jr. A, bad numbers in Bathurst, and continues with bad numbers in CB.

Don't blame Sullivan.
