Again the weekend will tell us where we stand as a team. Is that so? Facing Bathurst will NOT tell what kind of a team you got.... A good roadtrip against Rimouski/Quebec/BC would be a much better test. However the Titan might surprise your team on the weekend. Yes, that IS so. You are directly behind us in the standings therefore taking 3 of 4 points is important in proving to ourselves that we are now considerably better then we were before our trades. What does a game in Quebec against powerhouse teams tell us? Other then we're not in the top 3. Our standing against the entire league already tells us that. Beating the teams around us like Bathurst, Gainteau, Halifax, and Chicoutimi tells us whether we've improved. That's our only goal at this point.

You are second last in a weak Division and you want to make the playoffs the way Dumont tried to improve his team by trades. So you want to face a top team in the playoffs....which is the only possible venue at the moment. Do you want that to last 4 games or do you want your youth to take experience through a competitive series? Facing the best possible opposition should tell you to what extent the last trade period improved your team.

In reality given how far down in the standings CB was when the trade period ended, Dumont is probably hoping at best to finish as high as the 7-10 range overall. That way MAYBE you get home ice in the playoffs for round one and if you get by there then in round 2 you get to hope for an upset against one of the big guns. Thus it's not the upper tier of the league they are thinking/hoping/needing to beat/catch. Its everyone else....like from Shawinigan down currently in the standings.... and are probably hoping they can beat SJ and Baie Comeau as they both sold off somewhat and slid but realistically barring a big collapse by SJ, BC and Moncton, Cape Breton doesn't have enough games left in the season to catch those 3 in the standings.

I wanted to put in my two cents for what it's worth.
First I support the changes that were made. I think we did well with the trades.
Secondly, The biggest change that I saw in our team last night was the level of player engagement. There were lots of stick tapping, high 5's, pats on the back and overall the support the players offered each other is what stood out for me. I didn't see very much of that this season before last night. Did anyone else notice?

LeBlanc sacrificing the body to block shots, even Lazarev was as well and he usually doesn't.

We want to win regular season games and face a team on our level so we have a chance of winning. We have potential to move up the standings because of our weak division.....dumb ass.

The thing is that Halifax is getting back Ehlers/Meier/Falkenham, Bathurst is getting better and Moncton will get back Barbeshev. Moncton and SJ are already too far ahead to be caught up, Islanders are playing 0.500 or more... IMO you are facing the top teams IF you ever make the playoffs. By the way, there is no use writing abusive terms when exchanging.

As we saw in the first half, a lot can happen in 30odd games.

You think Halifax gains an Ehlers but doesn't lose a Fucale. You don't mention ANYTHING we acquired and why it could make us better. There is no exchange with you. You're a senior citizen puckbunny who hasn't been able to 'exchange' anything with a fan outside your own market for over 10 years now. You cherry pick and see only what you want to believe...Halifax and Moncton gaining Euro's and Charlottetown playing .500 or more yet nothing about what Cape Breton did and why it may mean improvement. Stick to your own team, at least there's still enough fans there to keep you in check. You're a train wreck once you try and talk about anything else in the league.

I noticed LeBlanc early on being very motivational at the bench to the players.

Players like Leblanc blocking shots and being vocal are the things that wear off on others though. Hockey players feed off momentum as most of us know as usually a big blocked shot or hit becomes contagious once players see positives result from it and hear the fans show some appreciation for it.

Maybe there was more truth to what people were saying about certain players not seeing eye to eye with Dumont. Last night they just seemed like more of a "team" then they have so far. Good to see though.
