61% of all statistics are fabricated... 14% of all people know that. I would say 99.73% of everyone on here including moi have no clue who will be here next year. No sorry 99.74%

I know who will be here ... Conor Garland ... Cameron Askew ... Will Smith ... Zack Malatesta ... Liam Murphy ... Stephen Johnson (wearing the C)... Garrett Johnston. The US guys likely have NTCs ... but maybe not Askew.
I know who won't be here ... Talbot-Tassi ... Dubeau ... Burke ... Barbashev.
I know who have a strong possibility of not being back ... Sweeney (AHL) ... Beaton (Jr A) ... Zilbert (Jr A).
And then there are a few who I would not be surprised to see not back ... Leger ... Bower ... Tibbo
And there are a few that I expect back but could be part of trades ... Holwell ... Cormier ... Jacob ... Tesink ... Klebanskyj ... Corson (not really here ... but he is)
I probably missed a few ... but that's what I see. I think we will make a deal or two at the draft that will see some players go out that we expect back ... and I think a few guys might ask to get traded but that's just speculation.
If Sweeney jumps to Pro ... then Johnson, Johnston and probably Zilbert take the 20 YO slots. Although I would consider upgrading on Zilbert if we are near the top again.
Rioux should be back ... unless we draft a goalie high and trade for another guy to carry the ball.
On Leger ... don't think he is happy here ... but just guessing. But I hope he is back. With maturity I think he can be a 80-100 pt guy in the Q.
On Bower ... he has to take the step beyond defensive center. He may be worth more to us in a trade. Nice kid and gives you 100% every night ... but we need a little more.
On Tibbo ... he'll be 19 and probably a 3rd liner. Good PK guy, but unless we are contending I'd rather see 17 and 18 YOs in his role.
I liked what I saw from McKewen ... I think he could be here next year ... but he is sort of in the same bind as Tibbo. Do you use a 19 YO in a utility role ?

If you think a guy like Tibbo or McEwen can be a top notch 3rd liner by midseason next year you can bring in a 2nd or 3rd rounder for them. Obviously if you have a roster crunch where a lot of young players need a roster spot then keeping a Tibbo at 19 becomes harder. I have no issue with a 19 year old on the 3rd line if he is very good there, before the 3rd line used to be strictly a checking line, but the last 4-5 years NHL and junior hockey have more to a lot of teams having 3 lines that can score with 2 way players mixed in. Long story short, if you can get 40pts from Tibbo and good PK work you keep him.

I can't see it happening, but it would be nice if Alex D'Orio from Magog fall to the Cats at the draft next summer. All indications is that he will go between 5-8 overall.

I don't think Rioux will be back, I see him being dealt to a team needing a veteran backup, with younger guys like Dupre and Talbot-Tassi doing well this year I see one of those two here next year for sure. Would also be nice if they get Johnson, Sweeney and Johnston as the 3 20's if they could find a team to trade for Zilbert and Beaton, anything we get back would be better than nothing and just letting them go play Jr.A

Rious is too old to be #2 behind a veteran and not starter quality.

They give him starts to give Dubeau a break. He looked good to me in the 1st half ... had a few bad starts but more decent starts than bad ones. He looked like a guy that just needed to work more to get better ... less time between starts. But he has to make a case for himself to be here next year by making the coach feel comfortable putting him in against anybody ... and he seems to have regressed in that regard.

Going on a limb that they were alluding to the 10 yr anniversary since Moncton hosted the Memorial Cup....or Bois could have been bang on. I think he is referring to getting a shot at the Mem Cup which we did in 2010 ... only 5 yrs ago. We won't be hosting again until we get a new rink ... that is likely 5 yrs away minimum ... and Halifax and Saint John will likely be ahead of us in line ... so maybe 9-10 yrs.

In 2006 it was a serious run and lost in championship final. You think Irving is gonna wait for another 10 years ,that will be 20. 5 yrs ago wasn't the 2006 team in any shape or form. Don't hold your breath on this new facility yet
