Our 16 year old rookie is certainly making a name for himself in the Q.Best rookie to come along in a while here. if he stays healthy, he has 24 games to get 25 points to break Victor Hertzberg's record for most points by a rookie.Svechnekov also has a shot at it as well, although he is not a 16 year old. Here's hoping one of them can eclipse the old mark.

Hertzberg was the same age as Svechnikov in his rookie season.
Top 16 year old scorer for CB was James Sheppard with 45 in 65.

If he stays healthy, Svechnikov is almost certain to break it. Hertzberg's record is 56pts (in 67 games) and our Russian Rocket now stands at 47 points (in 34 games), only 9 points behind with 24 games left!
Dubois' 32 points in 33 games certainly puts him on a pace to break the team record for points by a 16 year old. He is, in my opinion, having the most impressive season ever by a 16 year old in an Eagles jersey. Great vision, ability to score, defensively accountable (he is a plus player!), incredibly strong on the boards, especially for a player of his age. So impressed by his all round game.
On the topic of our super rookies, I think is notable that the player with the best plus minus of the players that have been here all year is Evgeny Svechnikov !

Could be an interesting conversation/debate. Personally, I still have Olivier Roy at the top of my list but Dubois is definitely making a case for himself. There's probably someone very significant that I'm overlooking.

Sheppard was pretty good, though, especially in the second half.

Just some info that I gathered up here...
These are players who finished the year very close to or above PPG as a 16 year old in the last 10 years
Daniel Sprong - 2013-14 - (30 - 38 - 68) in 67 GP Nathan MacKinnon - 2011-12 - (31 - 47 - 78) in 58 GP Anthony Duclair - 2011-12 - (31 - 35 - 68) in 63 GP Charles Hudon - 2010-11 - (23 - 37 - 60) in 63 GP Angelo Esposito - 2005-06 - (39 - 59 - 98) in 57 GP
Dubois missed 12 games already because of his suspension and minor injuries so he will only play 56 games and at his current pace, he should finished around 54 points (just about PPG).
Some pretty impressive names to say the least. Sprong is a projected 1st rounder this year, Mackinnon and Esposito were clearly on another level and both had an great Q careers although Esposito completely busted in the pro ranks. If it were not for injury concerns and size, Hudon would've been a top 60 pick in the 2012 and has had an impressive pro start. Duclair obviously slipped in 2013 but is a clear top 15 talent now.

Daniel Sprong is the most interesting comparable on that list for me. He is recent (last year) and Dubois has very near the same pace for points. However, I feel that Dubois is a much more complete hockey player. It is definitely a visual as to how special a player he is!

He took a step back this year. I think Dubois is a more valuable player and i'd take him over Sprong.

The last game at Centre 200 I seen Svechnikov at the blue line waiting for a pass Dubois had the puck and he did not pass he turned and went back into our zone not sure why. I truly hope I am wrong because for those two top players to not get along for whatever reason would be very dissapointing and would not be helping the team at all. When Svechnikov got to the bench Dumont talked to him finger out ( whatever that means ) and then Svechnikov went to the dressing room. I don't think the coach told him to go, i say this because the coach then sent the assistant coach to go in the dressing room whether or not to clear the situation up or for another reason? May have been about the bad penalties that Svechnikov took. Hope all is well next game.

The last thing we need is for players and /or coach to not get along!

That is piddly stuff that can be straightened out in 2 minutes . They are both Rookies .....this is not a Vet and a High Profile 16 year old having a spat ..........it's 2 1st year players .

Holy overreaction.
The team just won 5 straight and somehow some one figures out a way to bring out the negatives and overthink.
Did you ever think that maybe Svechnikov went to the dressing room because he was a liability to us? Every time he touched the puck he turned it over, or almost everytime he didn't have it he was taking a penalty. He was given another chance in the second period when we were mostly short handed and took more penalties and turned more pucks over in the third and was sent back again.
I don't know why this is being discussed in this thread anyway

I was at the game Sunday and saw nothing to indicate that Dubois and Svechnikov don't get along ? :S
Was there more to it than this speculation that since Dubois didn't pass him the puck that they don't get along ? Or is that the sole basis on this lol
As for Dumont and Svechnikov on the bench I can't comment on that since I didnt see it. However Svechinov was having a rough game and the moose were pushing his buttons perfectly because he was taking undicipline penalties all night out of frustration. If I was a coach I would definitely have had to get after him one way or another.
But like Hal says. This isn't anything that shouldn't be fixed quickly. Simply a first year player who had a rough game out there. Nothing more than that. It's not time to book him his flight back to Russia.

I feel like I'm in a Toronto Maple Leafs fan forum, overthinking every little thing that happened during the game.
