I was at the game last night and the key from our side was our best players were not at their best tonight. Farrell, Svechnikov, Lazerev, Hinds - none of them were creating the way they can. For a while, it seemed like we couldn't complete a pass. Resop played ok but he really was not challenged very much. Have to give credit to the Mooseheads though as they really did a good job of blocking lanes to the net, both of terms of shots and our players getting to the front of the net. Bleanger made some big stops and was not at all a problem for us last night. Eagles' best players for my money were Dubois and Leveille.

Fully agree Hawk, the Mooseheads were the better team tonight. Am I missing something or can someone please tell me how the hell Dumont can take Sullivan out of the nets after the way this kid has been performing. I have never been able to follow what Dumont does with the goaltenders since Day 1. He had a hot goaltender in Marchand and he dumped him, he brings in Brassard, who, while he was with us,couldn't stop a beachball and he kept playing him. Now he has a kid who is standing on his head,we need wins, and he sits him. Make sense to anyone? He does a lot of puzzling things behind the Bench ......why was Leblanc out when they had the extra attacker instead of Leveille ? Now I know LeBlanc is supposedly a good defenceman but he is "just" returning from Injury and Leveille has a cannon and has been the Eagles best Defenceman ( arguably the best player ) for the last little while .

I'm thinking there are some BĂ©langer's on these boards. hahahahah Now think about what your saying. They both were backups " You can't ride Sullivan into the ground " I desperately need points, I have a hot goaltender, And your think we will tire him out, Yet last weekend Svechnikov played four game in four nights or five not sure? Come on now Eagle fan 2009. Your smarter that that.

Jesus Christ we win 8 of our last 9 or something like that and there's barley a word spoken and then we lose a game to Halifax and go figure "Dumont" is brought back into the equation along with his goal tending choices.
Sick...

Sick... What do you expect? He's an average coach. He has no idea how to fix the PP or really improve our play overall. I don't care how well were playing, with a real coach behind the bench, this team could be dynamite.

Ye Dumont, your powerplay is awful! 9th best PP in the league as the 15th place team! It should obviously be first!

First Dumont is the coach and he will coach the way he decides to coach. He did fix the team, he made our eagles a great team with his trades . And we all realize that fact. However, we also play a part as fans of the Eagles and in my view its great to hear all the opinions that different people write about. I also personally feel that we demand the best out of our players, coach and the organization in general as we should. Some of us like to watch games and see things that a coach may or may not be to busy coaching to see. We are on this blog because we care about the eagles and mean no harm to the team or the coaching staff. In fact we may at times help them with our opinions which is a good thing. Don't think they don't have someone in the organization checking all comments. I believe they care about the fans as much as we care about the team. Bottom line, its all good stuff and i like to think we help the eagles in some small way with these blogs.

This team would NOT be in 15th with an actual Q level coach though and deep down you know that. You just fail to accept it which i could care less about. Yes he made our team better because he's a good GM, but as we were told from day one, his coaching his average at BEST. It shows in games like friday. They went 0/3 on the PP in the first, and made 0 adjustments going into the second/third periods.

Deep down I know that if you're complaining about the PP after a 9-3 month when it's usually one of the assistant coaches responsibility, you're grasping at straws. By the way, the CB PP in the month of January was 25% which is an improvement on the first half & a top 5 PP in the Q.

Give me a break. I cannot get behind his line juggling. It's an absolute joke. Even andersen said it was crazy in his interview friday night on the eastlink broadcast. It has too be frustrating as a player to play like that night in and night out.

Fully agree with the frustration the line juggling must be causing.Dumont was doing well with leaving the lines together for a period of time after the trade period and the team was rolling. I noticed in our last home game against Chicoutimi that the line juggling was well in play again, why, who knows. same as the goaltending, why he sat Sullivan when he was on a roll, who knows. I guess Dumont doesn't believe in the old adage: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Oh I see. 9-3 is irrelevant because the teams are ahead of CB in the standings. Makes perfect sense.
& now that the PP numbers aren't as bad as you assumed, the problem is the line juggling?
You wanted to prematurely fire the coach before he had a chance to address the problems at the trade deadline. He addressed the problems at the trade deadline exceptionally and the teams performance has been excellent... but you have to keep trying to piss in peoples Cheerios because you can't accept that you tried to run Dumont out of town prematurely?
Learn to deal with it.

You blame him for having the 9th best power play yet give no credit for the pk? Aren't we 2nd overall on the pk? Dumont coached us last year when we tied Quebec for the 3rd best pp (1st overall at home). I know this year has been a shit show till January but so far since he cleaned up the mess I'm happy with the improvements we have shown. At some point I hope he sticks with line combos for longer stretches but it's funny how we could win 10 in a row and some can't wait for a loss to come on here to criticize.

I expect that regardless of how well the team has performed as of late that "loses" are going to happen. If this team won every game from here on out and lost their last game of the season, people would still be on here calling out Dumont. I don't think he's a Scotty Bowman but for gods sake we had an excellent month and we lose a game and people storm out with their pitch forks and torches.
