Say what you want but here is a prim example of how effective Bent is. The night Halifax beat Rimouski down here Bent was so far under Dunn's skin that Dunn wanted to fight Bent when Rimouski was on a power play. Bent was straight up laughing in Dunn's face. Another example of the tremendous class. Might have worked in that case but I've witnessed him take a lot of dumb/pointless penalties that have cost the Moose. You can add together the pros/cons that he brings but either way (my opinion) , I wouldn't want him sporting my team's jersey. For this team at this time he is a free, local, experienced enough type of player and the coach has gotten good results from overall.

I've seen some good things from him this and I've seen bad things as well... a pathetic dive after the play was over in which Austyn Hardie rolled his eyes and shook his head on right in front of me comes to mind. Bent has been a healthy scratch but when his is in the lineup he works his ass off, kills penalties. The Mooseheads didn't give up anything for him and him being on the team kept a 16 year old FW back down in midget rather than being in and out of the lineup.

His role is agitate and to spark his team ... and be a physical presence. He is a good skater and does an effective job in his role ... which all allows him to take a regular shift. He has been known to dish out the occasional greasy hit ... but anybody playing a physical role is going to do that from time to time ... lines get crossed as emotions elevate. My only gripe about him is his phony glove jiggling garbage that he has been doing for 3 yrs now. Drop that stuff and he becomes a far more respected opponent.

Fully agree with you Steve....on this one! When Bent played for SJ the only complaint I had about him was that fake dropping the gloves thing. That means he lived up to expectations in his time here aside from that one little thing and got the job done.
When Bent has played for other teams in the Q, Bent has always annoyed me as a fan and got myself and others near bouncing off the walls in anger/frustration. If he can make fans feel that way I can only imagine how the opposing players feel out there....and that means he's doing his job again.

He also only tips 14% at restaurants.
