I don't think that is going to happen. Booth didn't want to go to Halifax. I thought Booth not wanting to come had more to do with the Remparts hosting the Memorial Cup, but who knows. Halifax should be a better team then Quebec next Season, depending on who comes back for Halifax.

That was the expectation before the Moncton and Fucale trades went sideways. Still a 2018 pick that could go for something later which is not unusual in futures. Interesting scenario if the Mooseheads did trade Brassard and then acquired Booth. Would that mean Resop could be traded as well and the Mooseheads draft a backup to groom? IF that happened cashing in on Booth would be the quicker way to rebuild added to a Dona move as well.

Quebec may look for Brassard back after their last 2 games......Booth was on the losing end of a 6-0 game then Fucale lost 3-0......just saying...lol

Many Americans get NTCs from their team ... not recognized by the Q ... because they don't want to be traded to a French community. They are willing to come to Halifax or Moncton ... but not willing to be dealt to say Chicoutimi. Some don't mind ... some do. i think it is more of the unknown when trying to decide to come to the Q.
Many of these kids won't come without that clause ... so to get them here you make that agreement. That doesn't mean you can't trade them ... just means they have the right to approve a trade. If they refuse a trade, they can still be traded, but good luck using a NTC again to convince a player to show up. Word gets around if you can't be trusted on your agreements.

I know its just a rumour but I have heard from a few people that Nik has no plans to play in the chl next year. Its either going to be the nhl ahl or heading to Europe.

If he feels he isn't getting any better here, then he would want to play in Europe to have the best shot at getting to the next level. I'm sure Winnipeg will have a say in what's best for his development. Halifax could find a way to trade him to a contender at the draft this year for conditional picks, so that he'll be playing in either a winning environment, or in Winnipeg.
Honestly if that situation were to happen, this would be the best time for it. Being a last place team next season would be ideal with a chance to nab Veleno should he not be given exceptional status this year. We're not winning anything with Ehlers anyway.
That all being said, don't worry about rumors. I've heard quite a few doozies over my years as a junior hockey fan as I'm sure others have.

Don't quote me, but I thought I read somewhere he can't play in Europe and yes he's not old enough for the AHL. Next year will be interesting, see if Nik and Timo come back depends on our goaltending situation but I think we'll be decent again next year if the 2nd years make strides and step up kind of like Timo did this year; plus we have to see what happens at the draft and if we end up getting Cody Donaghey from Quebec.
