Don't quote me, but I thought I read somewhere he can't play in Europe and yes he's not old enough for the AHL. Next year will be interesting, see if Nik and Timo come back depends on our goaltending situation but I think we'll be decent again next year if the 2nd years make strides and step up kind of like Timo did this year; plus we have to see what happens at the draft and if we end up getting Cody Donaghey from Quebec. He can play in Europe.

Gregirenko(if thats how its spelt). He played in all 3 leagues, the q, the ahl and nhl. Euros have diffent rules. Grigorenko was blocked from playing in the AHL by NHL when Buffalo tried to send him down because of the rule.

I have a sneaky feeling we may be losing them both depending on who drafts Timo, what are our euro picks this year? Maybe they will be high and just as good, I wasn't expecting Ehlers and Meier to be this good when we drafted them.

Timo at best will go 12th in draft but likely 16-20 ish / that part of NHL draft the teams are not often ready to rush a player in. I would be very surprised if Meier is not back after a week in his NHL camp. Also they may want to see him play not in the shadow of another elite junior player. Ehlers...I really think the Jets may send him back again. But where he goes is up to him. An NHL team would rather he be in the CHL than in a European league. The question to ask is a) Does Winnipeg have a spot where he would play as much as they want him to for development - the Jets play a way different game style than Halifax has with Ehlers. b) Is he really ready? Many a CHL player has looked too good for this league and been humbled by the NHL. Its easy to get drawn into thinking he is that good and can make the jump we all would like to see...but ..we will see.. Its a real bad thing for Halifax not knowing.

Ehlers is signed, so Winnipeg would have to agree to the move. All moot anyway. He'll be in the NHL.

Well in salary cap NHL the Jets will not burn a year of his entry level deal (no not Winnipeg which is also a budget team that does not plan to spend to the cap) unless he can play regularly and contribute. This will be what is is about. If he was a year older and they had the flexibility to assign him to the AHL where they pay minor league $ (two way deal) then maybe they would. He really has to impress in camp and then hope for some sort of break that gets him in their top 9 F right away. Interestingly we see what happened to Duclair. Great camp. Won a spot on NYR - as season got going the coach did not give him enough minutes. After the WJC he got assigned back to Quebec entry year burnt of course and the Rangers traded him in the Yandle deal to the Coyotes. New York paid him a few $ but they did not care about the lost year of contract because they were not keeping him. Winnipeg probably wants to keep Ehlers.

Well with Duclair the first year of his ELC was getting burned even if he played junior the whole year.

I think they'd have to put him in his place right off the bat. It's the team, not you!

I really don't think you'll have Ehlers back ... He has NHL caliber skills now. They parted ways with Kane and won't likely sign both Stafford and Tlusty maybe one but not both. I thinkit might be a little bit of wishful thinking to have him back but I don't see it happening. Nic Petan will need a year in the AHL so I don't see him getting a spot over Ehlers.

I'd keep Bent over Falkenham - he's been an experiment turned bad.... Bent>Falkenham LeBlanc>Brassard Who's first on your list?

"He has NHL caliber skills now" ----- Looks like NHL caliber skills on this team. That does not mean he is actually able to transfer those skills to the next level. I am really deep down hoping he is not back. The Moose are stuck in neutral if he comes back and they are rebuilding anyway. If we knew he was being developed right here and the players around him could take some of the slack off him maybe I would feel different. I do not see Cam trading his rights --- and last thing u want is a player that really does not want to be here (if that is true)

Bent>Falkenham LeBlanc>Brassard Who's first on your list? Keep Sam. The rest has to be on the table to leave though I like Falkenham missing so much time it is hard to really know if he can contribute more.
