Sam Meisenheimer named the rookie of the month in the CCHL. The RBC Cup finalist has come out of this league the last two seasons so it's not weak by any means. www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=251679I liked what I saw from him in camp. Never played a pre-season game though. Wonder if they can get him to report next season? Is he even our property ? Was he signed ? I don't think so. Roger Shannon refers to him as a Cats prospect so take that for whatever it's worth.

I know it's early but I was bored and thought I'd throw together a few trade proposals. I think it would be a great year to take a step backwards and make some major additions for next year which is a year i think we can truly contend.
To Shawinigan:
Jacob Sweeney
To Moncton:
Jocktan Chainey
----------------------------------------
To Rouyn Noranda:
Conor Garland Stephen Johnson
To Moncton:
Louis-Philip Cote 1st 2017 (Philipe Myers) 1st 2018( Jeremy Lauzon) 1st 2019 (JC Beaudoin)
--------------------------------------------
To Victoriaville:
Zach Malatesta Eric Leger
To Moncton:
Bradley Lalonde Olivier Tremblay
------------------------------------------------
To Gatineau:
Louis philipe Cote 2nd 2017 3rd 2018
To Moncton:
Alex Dostie
2016-17
Olivier Tremblay (19) Sebastien Dupre (19)
Phil Myers (19) - Jeremy Lauzon (19) Adam Holwell (19) - Bradley Lalonde (19) Maximilian Glassl (19) - Jocktan Chainey (17) Marcus Tesink(18)
Euro - Cam Askew (19) - JC Beaudoin (19) Alex Dostie(19)- Klima (19) - Klima (19) Will Bower(19) - Liam Murphy(18) - Willy Smith(19) Lane Comier(19) - Noah Corson (18) - Ethan Crossman(17)
*This also leaves us with all our 20-year old slots open to fill weaknesses. Not to mention free agents as well.

I would say the odds are that they add 2-3 smaller pieces.

I'm not sure Shawinigan would be willing to give up Chainey for a half season rental, but would certainly upgrade their defence with a high quality 20. Rouyn has a lot of 18 year olds and are set up well to contend next season so there's no way they're making a trade like that. If they do anything, they'll likely look to deal picks and young players for guys who will be back next season. They won't be trading away the likes of Lauzon, Beaudin and Myers as futures. Victoriaville trading away their starting goaltender doesn't make much sense for them and I'm not sure why Gatineau would be dealing away Dostie.

If Rouyn Noranda are first overall come Christmas time , with no other real clear cut contenders , I could see them going all in. Imagine the impact of Garland and Johnson would have ! Not to mention there's a decent chance Garland could return next season for them. Victoriaville may or may not me looking to upgrade their goaltender in which Tremblay may be more tradable. It's been mentioned on the Quebec boards they could me in the market to add a goaltender. Gatineau is in a rebuild year and Dostie will be 19 next year. They can add a first round talent with good potential and a couple of other higher picks.
