He should talk to his player, Ehlers has a reputation around the league as a diver. Little late to the party aren't you? Just because he embellishes sometimes doesn't mean he's immune to drawing a penalty ever. It's the chicken or the egg. Players dive because the don't get any calls, and they don't get any calls because they are known to dive. Refs and player are at fault. Refs need to do their job.

I agree, but when you get known for embellishing, refs don't give you the benefit of any doubt so only blatant calls are called.

Players that dive get less calls their way it's the way it is ... they bring it on themselves with their own conduct. I'd be willing to bet players like Ehlers who has a reputation for embellishing have had just as many calls go their way as calls that have not gone their way. The referees do the best job they can but when players embellish it certainly doesn't make their job very easy ... Players dive to try and get calls not because they don't get calls their way. Blaming refs for players diving ... what's next?

They also are in the process of deciding the outcome of the game ... and sort of committing a fraud. It is illogical that they would choose to do that ... but they do.

They aren't just punishing the player ... but the entire team. I'd prefer they call the dive ... and after accumulating 3 such calls the player get fined and suspended.

I'd like to see them go back to the days when there was no penalty for diving. If you developed a reputation for diving, you might end up not getting the call when you were legitimately fouled.

It was a joke last night for sure. Goons being goons because they are in last. Got excited they were beating halifax, then blew it and turned to the dirty game. The titan as a team are a joke and guys like chsb have only elhers to goat about. Although Elhers has raw talent and is one of the (if not) best forwards in the league, he has created himself a repetition with the refs of this league. That's hard to crack once spread throughout the refs. Kind of afraid the same thing is happening with Svechnikov here in cape breton. I haven't read through this whole thread, nor do I care too.....but Bathurst is far from a goon team...they are small and soft...and they are among the leagues least in PIM's....if you had said that a few years back when they always seemed to be near the top in PIM, then you may have a point. I didn't see the hit, but if it were dangerous they player should be penalized properly for it. As far as the coach calling out the refs, that never works...Ehlers is a top player and will always be checked harder and tighter than other players, simply because he is the biggest threat. If anyone expects other teams to lay off him they'll never see that....all the top players and fans of those players feel the same way. I used to hate it when Zach O'Brien used to seem to take way more than other players did, but that's part of the game....he was a threat all the time and being shadowed hard by others teams. It comes with the territory.
