They did this on the PEI board and I found it interesting so I thought I'd see how people on this board felt about it.
Heading into the playoffs you get to pick one player from Eagles history to join the current roster.
Who would it be and why?
I'd pick Dominic Noel from the 2002 playoffs.
In 16 playoff games Noel had 15 goals, 8 assists for a total of 23 pts.
I will never forget that series against Halifax. Especially game 3 at the Nest. The stick infraction call followed by 3 quick goals to take siege of the game. Glen Craig went "Ape Shit" in the broadcast booth on that night.
I'll never forget the impact Noel had on that post season, or the times he jumped into the Eagles bench while flashing the crest of his jersey.
Ohhhhhhh the nostalgia.
Thoughts?

My pick would be my favorite of all time, Dean Ouellett. He exemplified what hard work and dedication can do, he left it all out on the ice each time, every time, regardless of the score.

Sheppard. 8g, 12a in 16g in those 06/07 playoffs mentioned in the other thread.
I missed a lot of the "middle years" of the franchise. My grandpa had season tickets from the Oilers first season all the way until maybe the Eagles 5th or 6th season, somewhere around 2001/2002. I used to go to tons of games with him for those first 5 years and then I stopped until somewhere around 05/06. So, I missed a lot of great players like Noel, Asselin, many others who I can't think of.

Seems like the obvious answer to this question, Chris Culligan.
49pts in 47 career Q playoff games. Just a true leader who brought so much more than just points on the score sheet.

I know this is for one but I will never forget the 20 tandem of Culligan , Slaney and Haddad. Those guys were class acts and never backed down from anything.

Interesting topic.
Of course it's easy to throw a Sheppard, Fleury or Ouellet on a team and dream of the possibilities but I think it's important to remember some of the role players too as fans tend to love them as much as the stars and some of them and how they played shows us how the game has changed in the almost 20 years of Q hockey in CB.
I think the current day fan base would like a Charles Fontaine or Beau Prokopetz style defencemen.

A guy like Pierre-Luc Laprise would really help with the offensive depth the Eagles are lacking, to Jack's point.

Stable goaltending would be nice after the last several seasons so I'd go with Fleury. If you wanted a solid defensive D with leadership my pick would be JP Cote. Skill up front is Sheppard easily. Unlike many of our top scorers like Culligan, Noel, Ouellet who were with us till their 20 yo season, we only had Sheppard till his 18yo season.

Goaltending has been better in the second half but it would still be Ondrej Pavelec for me.
