Don't know for sure. But I wouldn't doubt that it's not climate controlled. I seem to remember them having a basketball floor though. I am guessing its climate controlled. It is not cold in there. I haven't been there in probably 10 years ... last time was when my son was down their for a hockey tournament. I always thought it was a cold rink ... but too long to recall now.

Does this mean our playoffs will not start until Saturday or will all teams play Friday still?

Were starting on the road. The home team will have some say on that Fri or Sat start if their building is available both days. Normally the league prefers F S - T W F - S M(or)T in a 2-3-2 scenario which is probably what Halifax will be facing Not forcing the Mooseheads to play Wednesday night in an empty arena was their break...thats enough until 2017-18 by Q standards

So who wants the Mooseheads to lose out for a better draft pick or win out and get an "easier" first round opponent? I am going for lose out. Tough love.

I remember being in the forum for a SMU - Acadia Basketball game, around 4,000 plus fans. Pretty sure it was the spring of 1976. So basketball has been played there. I think they took the floor from there when the Metro Centre opened, I would assume a new floor has been purchased since then.

Not the first time it's happened between these two teams. In January, 2005 Halifax played in Moncton... really bad storm that day... ended up getting two feet. But the Moose traveled to Moncton the day before and therefore the game had to be played... and I don't recall anyone (especially anyone from Halifax) saying how "crazy" that was. I'd be willing to bet in both cases that all people involved were happy to not have to reschedule. Cats won that game 4-0, btw... Adam Pineaut beat, I think, Churchill (could've been Duchesne) on a shot from the redline. Cody Doucette won a decision over Kevin Cormier. Dan Lacroix with his first coaching win in the Q after Larue got canned. Good times. It was a KO ... no decision needed. Dropped him like a bag of wet cement (who puts water in their cement while it is still in the bag ?). Any video of that fight ? I've looked for years with no luck...

The AUAA final basketball tournament used to always be played at the Forum in the 80s - often a week before the CIAUs at Metro Center. So they have/had their own floor. They both had basketball floors. The only reason these events have all graduated to Scotiabank Center is comfort. Better facilities. I hope the Forum stays in some form that can be used to host midsized events. Even if its is replaced with a multi-ice venue one of those should be 3500-4500 seats.

Hfx plays Sherbrooke in the playoffs regardless of next 2 games I believe. Maybe they should sit Some stars for extra rest for the playoffs.

I don't think that is correct at all ... you aren't even lined up with Sherbrooke now ... you are lined up with Shawinigan today. They look to be fixed in 5th but depends on tie-breakers. Halifax can still move up or down from 12th ... depending on the tie-breaker situation.

Who cares. Stopping the wildkittys from getting first overall would be better.

The degree of difficulty between a Quebec and a Shawinigan is pretty steep. We have a chance against Shawinigan and below. We don't in all likelyhood against Quebec or Blainville. One more point in the next two games will secure the Moose 12th. After that, it doesn't really matter if they play Shawinigan or Sherbrooke. I don't want to play Baie-Comeau. They are a sleeper and probabaly have the best chance at pulling off an upset in the 2nd round should they get there.

I actually think from an outsiders perspective it would be very entertaining to see a Quebec/Halifax series. I think there's an outside chance Quebec gets beat in the first round with their ups and downs this season. Halifax beating them would be similar to Victo beating out Moncton in the first round after trading Danault to them.

Who cares. Stopping the wildkittys from getting first overall would be better. For you to have any role in that, Quebec needs to beat Rimouski today, and we have to beat Charlottetown. If either of those two things don't happen today ... you'll likely see our backup tomorrow and Garland and Barbashev and one of our Dmen sat out.
