looking at the chl site, i see that Conner has a 5 point lead over Erie otter strome, who also plays today.just wondering if Conner and Ivan are both out for today to rest up whereas the cats can't gain a position in the final standings. but on the other hand , having a cat win the chl point title would be nice, although strome would need a very good day to get 5 points against Niagara who could play hard to move up in their play off seeding.

A point record is going to look pretty silly if Garland is out with a concussion from a Kelly Bent hit or something along those lines. No need for him to play today.

Yes it could happen in any game, but the big difference here is the game is completely meaningless for the cats. Just a risk you can't afford to take heading into the playoffs.

The game is on Sportsnet for those intersted in seeing if Garland can hang on to win the CHL scoring title. It's quite possible Erie will be resting some guys as they're already locked into 2nd in the Western Conference. Niagara still has a chance to gain home ice in their series against Ottawa, but they'll need the 67's to lose at home today to Sudbury. Considering the Wolves have a grand total of three road wins this season I'll say that's not likely.

Connor Garland's lead for the CHL scoring title is down to one point. Dylan Strome has 16 minutes left to tie him. Strome has 4 goals and an assist today.

just seen on the chl site that the chl tweeted that the chl points title will be shared by garland and strome. i thought it would've went to strome because he had more goals. i guess they don't have tie breaker rules in place for a tie situation. atta boy conor.

But this year the OHL plays a 68 game season ... same as the Q. Both guys had the opportunity to play 68 games ... so that should not matter. They don't need tie-breakers ... no issue with both guys sharing the award.

Yeah using the games played logic, Ehlers would have had more than both of them... but it doesn't work that way. No ... you miss the point ... you still have to actually put up the points to be considered in the tie. While Ehlers scored at a slightly higher rate than Garland did ... playing that extra 16 games comes with the jeopardy of injury. You can't simply say that Ehlers would have caught and passed him ... Ehlers may have ended up injured and missed even more time. Garland has outscored Ehlers since Ehlers returned from the WJC (Jan 9).
