I'm normally just a lurker here but just a quick post to wish the Eagles all the best for tonight and indeed the rest of the series. I had hoped the long suffering fans would have had a much better season to enjoy but the post Christmas form does at least offer some hope. I bought the play-off series online last year and fair to say it didn't live up to expectations! Hope to see much more this time around.

Remparts must have called in a favor to the league, the hit wasn't nothing more than the penalty he got.

I'd like to see a replay of that hit again, looked like shoulder to shoulder with the remparts unfortunately bouncing his head off the glass, but it wasn't boarding or anything...

We're still the only team to have taken a single game from Quebec this playoffs, man did we ever play them hard.
Wonder if Monc/Char are hitting them as much as the Eagles were.

It goes to show you how hard we played them and how talented our team was.
Especially ( I know I sound like a broken record )with Leblanc out and a few of our top forwards missing in various games.
Although I think Quebec has found their stride. It seems like they are starting to gel at the right time and I'm not sure if we would have taken 3 games off the Quebec Remparts of now like we did the Remparts of a few weeks ago.
The finals should be a dandy series assuming the Remparts and Oceanic meet, which I assume they will, giving Rimouski an instant ticket to the Memorial Cup.
Then come Memorial cup time, I think McDavid , Strome and the Otters will be the team to beat.

Remparts definitely get better with time in these playoffs. They were even better against Moncton than Charlottetown. They looked dominant in the last two games despite missing 5 regulars, including two overagers.

Imagine if the Eagles were healthier. Playoffs could look a lot different.

Imagine if the Eagles were healthier. Playoffs could look a lot different. Is there any hockey team where that doesn't apply at the end of the season?

Imagine if the Eagles were healthier. Playoffs could look a lot different. Is there any hockey team where that doesn't apply at the end of the season? Titan? The Remparts were fairly healthy while Leblanc missed the entire series and Farrell, Lazarev missed parts of it. I understand what you're saying but it's not unreasonable to think the Eagles could have won had they been as healthy as Québec was.

When you get to a 7th game of course it's not unreasonable to say any change would have/could have affected the final outcome. In a 7 game series with both teams 100% healthy do you think the final outcome is any different? I don't. We beat up some of their players along the way and had bad luck ourselves with the Farrell injury. But when a team loses in the playoffs, there's always bumps and bruises that lead to the what if questions. At the end of the day our season ended because we could not hold a lead. If we had not blown countless 3rd periods all season then the outcome would be even more drastically different as we would have been much higher in the standings. But I still see the best case scenario resulting in losing in round 2 to one of the better teams who have elite talent and play a pro style that helps protect leads. The players a team has means nothing if they can't play the right way. And outside of a small stretch of here and there all year the Eagles never really showed that they could play that way. Hopefully it's something that starts right from day 1 in training camp next season or the outcome will be similar.
