Nice to see there's not an unlimited supply of kool aid in Halifax. You guys must have drank it all last season against Val D'or. #AtoadAso

I think it is 29-14 in favour of Shawinigan winning the series.

Saint John should have traded him......talk about squashing a potential pro career in a hurry. If a scout is that bad that they base the past 3 years on 1-2 months they should quit scouting he's played on a bad team his whole career as a starter....therefore not exposed nor chosen for some things that he otherwise should have been if he had been on a contender.

Stopping the puck in junior isn't the same as stopping it as a pro. Those 2 inches coached properly stop a lot more pucks then athleticism does. It's silly to think a goaltender gets overlooked based on where they play at this point. Teams scour the junior ranks to find players and see goalies like him hundreds of times over his career. His pro potential has nothing to do with who he plays for and everything to do with his size combined with scouts opinion of how we will develop as a professional. Very few NHL goaltenders that are successful are under 6 feet.

I guess you are entitled to your opinion ... I completely disagree with your entire assessment though. So do we just not bother scouting teams or goaltenders that are rebuilding from now on? Sorry I'll leave this alone not the proper thread to discuss a player not on either team Haha ... Agree to disagree Porkchop

You don't think if he played on a team like halifax with 40-50 wins a year for the last 3 seasons that he wouldn't have got a look from some pro team. hard to tell now, but I would bet on he would have been an NHL draftee. things are changing recently with NHL goalie size, but as early as the late '90's average goalie height in the NHL was only about 5'11"...it's only gone up since then. I'd rather have a 5'10" Curtis Joseph that can stop pucks than 6'6" Anders Lindback who's only stopped 3 pucks in his entire career. Plenty of good solid goaltenders have been under 6'

I think the thing that makes a goalie when he goes to pro from junior is how much he can stay on his feet and make most saves. Yes there are fast reflex butterfly goaiies in the NHL. But as the shots are coming faster in the NHL (they r faster) and if you are always down on the ice on every shot in junior you may not be able to learn how to cover more of the net. Blocking more of the goal is critical. Mobility on skates and following the puck. I think u find the smaller goalies that do well are upright most of the time and still covering lots of net. On that note Kevin Resop square to the puck is very good. Its when he is out of position he is being beat. We seen him become a much better goalie through the season as difficult as it has been to watch some nights.
