Stephen Johnson should have been nominated. yes, i agree with that. kind of odd that no wildcat player was an option!!!! we should be a shoe in for the memorial cup since no cat played hard and still finished 2nd overall in the q league in the regular season.

This award comes from that 4th star award at every game. Moncton has so many hard working players that none of them got many total votes ... spreading the votes around between 5 or 6 guys ... Smith, Johnson, Burke, Bower, Malatesta, Johnston, Zilbert, Jacob ... etc. If you have just one or two hard working players then you can get a guy up on that list as they get more 'points' over the season.

I didn't realize that's how the nominees were picked. Makes sense why Johnson wouldn't be there then. I voted Ryan Penny. He's the kind of guy every team would love to have. Gives his all every single shift and is a leader on and off the ice. He's the guy that rarely gets noticed but has big impact on games due to his hard work , penalty killing and two-way play.
