- Svechnikov (19 i think?) His birthday is on October 31st so he will start next season as an 18 year old. 2014-2015 Age 17 -18 2015-2016 Age 18-19 2016-2017 Age 19-20 2016-2017 Age 20-21 Farrel was a 20 yo this year but was 21 when the season ended. So next season will technically be Svecnhikov's 18 year old year. I think that's how it works. Easiest way to figure junior age, this year was 2014(to start), all 1994's are "20 year olds", 1995's are "19 year olds" and so on. Next year 1995=20, 1996=19 etc

lots of options for next year. We have 4 top six players right now in the 2 Russians, Bishop and Dubois which means we need an impact 20 and an impact 19 to round out the top 6. That leaves a combination of Martineau, Boucher, Tower, MacSween,Declan Smith, Alex Bonoparte and David Caza to start filling out the bottom six.Assuming we are coming in with two 20's, Belanger and Gosselin, we only have room for one more 20. On the back end, someone may have to be moved to make more ice time for Beaudion, judging on what we saw this year, my choice to be moved would be Deschamps. He did not develop as hoped and was a major liability in his own end. He and Macintyre were running pretty much neck and neck but MacIntyre really picked up his game when LeBlanc went down. In nets, it will probably be Belanger and either someone already in the system or a drafted goalie. There are 2 goalies ranked in the top 10 this draft and then there is the Michael O'Leary situation.

But we'll be a tough lineup for any rookies to crack, especially if we use one of our 2 1sts on a forward.

So Q career over for him as well I'm guessing. Dumont probably already gave him a heads up he won't be a 20 yr old next year. Doubt he plays for stfx. Could play Jr. A with Truro or whoever the hell is closer to Antigonish Right forgot about that. Pictou is an option as well. Mike Lyle had a good year this year with 24 goals and 41 assists in 46 games.

He is right. Bottom 6 is going to be tough too crack with so many players fighting for so few spots. Martineau and boucher will only get better. So really it's the bottom 4. That impact 19 will be costly, but hopefully we can bring in a hinds/andersen impact 20 for a decent price. Those two guys brought the style of hockey back that has been missing for a while in CB. Really hoping the "playing bad to get traded" atmosphere has been shook off this team's radar. Hopefully that heart we seen against Quebec is just a sign of things to come.

So Colby Muise is not in the Future Plans ? He could be. How were his numbers this year? Will he be ready to make the jump? He will be fighting for that back up spot.

Lazarev (19) - Svechnikov (19 i think?) - Dubois (17) x (new 20) - Bishop (19) - x (19 year old playmaker?) MacSween (19) - Martineau (18) - Boucher (18) x - Tower (18) - x LeBlanc (19) - Leveille (19) Gosselin (20) - MacIntyre (19) Lalonde (18) - Deschamps (19) Beaudin (17) Belanger (20) Random Backup Goalie or Colby Muise Something like that? Lots of holes in our offense but I imagine the D will be relatively unchanged, maybe minus Deschamps for someone else.

Well , it was an ok year all in all.
Pushing the Remps to 7 was nice to see.
What 20 do you guys think should be targeted?
Seems like everyone thinks Belanger is fine for next year.
2015-2016 is Dumonts time to shine. If not I say give him the pink slip.

I would love to see us go out and get Aube-Kubel but realistically we will probably to to target Ratelle which will cost us a 1st and maybe Ranger from CHI for a couple of picks. Then maybe get Bouchard from Val d'Or to back up Belanger.

Val'D'Or will not be selling. They will not be giving up those guys. The other guys could work.

You can fill all of the holes(2 to 3 impact high scoring forwards, a number one or two type defenseman and maybe even a goalie) with trading assets like Lalonde, rights to O Leary and the draft picks you have for this year. Can trade picks from last year and even the year before but those cupboards seem bare to me.

Ranger - Bishop - Ratelle would be a pretty damn good second line. Skill & grit.
