Does anybody know the Moosehead's number to call about possible out-of-town reserved tickets for the Moncton games? Yes if you call the moose store 4920655 they have reserved tickets that you can purchase through them, there is one section reserved I believe. Thanks! I got a pair for Sat...

I don't envie the Wildcats playing a team with no pressure and with Elhers turning it up another level Mooseheads take the first game !

Should be a fun series. Hopefully it will be closer than it looks - on paper anyway. Our top line will get their points, and their top line will get their points. After that is where Moncton probably pulls away. Gadoury had a great game 7 IMO, but has otherwise looked like a 70% version of himself. He is still creative and dangerous, but I think the concussions have slowed him down and taken away some of his zip and drive around the zone. Fortier keeps looking like a guy who ALMOST has it figured out. I think we see the breakout next year, he shows a lot of skill and creativity and hussle most games, but the points never seem to match the skill. We will need some key goals from him. After those guys, its mostly 3/4th liners who, in fairness, did a great job in the Shawinigan series. Everyone did well to shut down Shawinigan and never get into too much trouble. We will need more of that against Moncton and their similar depth up front through lines 2 and 3. On defense, the teams shouldn't be close. Moncton has good depth and skill throughout, with some high end offensive skill from the top guys. We have Austyn Hardie (played like a beast last series who was called upon to do it all, and lead by example) and the rest are rookies. Like our depth forwards, can only give them an A+ as a group last series, as they generally looked like an experienced group. Cavan Fitzgerald has been amazing with how he has progressed, and at times looked like an experienced #1 guy last series on some plays. But our defense will be tested in this one again. Goaltending should be pretty good on both ends. Dubeau seems to have our number more often than not. We will need to get in his head and score some goals, rattle him. He does have a tendacy to be inconsistent. Brassard has been calm and steady and he will need to continue that and keep us in the game. Coaching - at this point, Ducharme has the clear edge. He has done it all in his career thus far, capped off with an upset series win where there was hardly a moment (other than 1 period in game 6) where we didn't look every bit as good as Shawinigan. Rumble had a great year, but didn't exactly put the boots to the #15 seed in round 1, with a few close calls. He still has a lot to prove and it will be interesting to see if his team performs as well as they have all year in this one and the rest of the way. I expect a couple big Moncton wins in the mix, but I don't think a couple moose wins are out of the question either. The head says Moncton in 6, but the heart won't be too unhappy with another big upset.

I realize we have to get by Moncton which won't be easy by any means, but Crazy to think that if we pull off another upset this will be our 3rd or 4th year in the semi-finals!

Ehlers & Meier are far superior to Garland & Barbashev and Dubeau isn't that much better than Brassard - or, at least, hasn't been playing that much better than Brassard - but Moncton's defence is heads-and-tails above Halifax's. If the Moose kept Murphy and/or Lussier or picked up a 20-year-old defenceman in January, this series might've gone the distance but with the Mooseheads having having an all-rookie blueline - excluding Hardie - I think the Wildcats wrap the series up next Friday.

First goal bounced off the Ref to him out front ... 2nd goal from behind the goal line ... 3rd bounced off the glass and hit Dubeau who knocked it in ... 4th was an EN goal that he missed on the 1st try. Not taking anything away from him ... he scores by getting himself into spots to score ... but it was a weird night. And all of those weird goals sucked the life out of Wildcats. Meier scored off a deflection ... not many clean and pretty goals. But ... who cares how they go in when you win. The first PP goal was nice ... I missed the 5th goal at the beer stand ... banged in a rebound I think ... needed a drink by that time.

I agree, it wasn't as dominant of a game as you usually see when someone has 4g 1a...though still not sure he deflected Gadoury' s shot. I think it should be Gadoury's. However, it was still a big game for the top line, they had lots of chances that didn't go in too, and he set up a Meier goal that didnt count too. I was impressed that Ehlers was clearly trying to ignore the hooks and holding and just keep playing, rather than get too frustrated there was no calls. I thought there was some clear penalties though, and the calls on the moose were iffy. Its sad but sometimes you really need to embellish the hook to make these refs call it.

Guess there is a reason why Ehler's was a first round draft pick, Meier is expected to be one and Garland is likely a future University star
