Incompetence on every level! And again, it's the Wildcats fans who are paying for it. How can the Coliseum double book? Unless there's an idiot that realised "Oh it's Friday at 7 PM!!! I was sure you meant 7 AM" They could have played Monday Tuesday and Thursday instead of Tuesday Wednesday and Friday....unless the Cats submitted a schedule to the Q without clearing it with the city first?

I was sure you meant 7 AM" What a slap in the face to the fans who supported the team all year. Is there not ONE rink in the city with an ice surface? What about SJ? Isn't it closer/bigger/more suitable for a Q playoff game? Typical of municipal politics to completely drop the ball and fuck over the tax payers while pissing money away. Spending $125K to force the home team into a road game for a potential deciding playoff game. Only. In. The. Q. Harbour Station has an event all weekend

I'd like to know now what is gonna be done for season ticket holders who have paid for full playoffs. Will we get first shot at buying tickets in Fredericton in roughly same area of rink we sit at coliseum. Or am I gonna contact credit card company for reversal of charges due to change of agreement of sale. Be nice for wildcat front office get thumb out of ass and address the fans who fund this team year after year.

Moncton, April 14, 2015 – Due to a scheduling conflict at the Moncton Coliseum, the Moncton Wildcats have agreed to movegame five of the playoff series with the Halifax Mooseheads to Fredericton. “Game five is now scheduled for Friday, April 17 at 7 p.m. in Fredericton at the Aitken University Centre,” said Ryan Jenner, Director of Business Operations for the Moncton Wildcats. “We understand this is not an ideal situation. However, this is our best option given the circumstances and in the spirit of cooperation and consideration for our various community partners.” Tickets for game five will go on sale as soon as it is determined the game will be required. The Wildcats play in Halifax tonight and tomorrow night. “Seats will be held in Fredericton for anyone who has alreadypurchased a ticket for Friday night’s game. Any season or flex ticket package holder who has a ticket but cannot go to Fredericton will get a credit against their 2015-16 season ticketpackage,” said Jenner. “Should anyone have any questions about redemption, they can contact our office at (506) 382-5555.” The Moncton Wildcats will let fans know when tickets go on sale in Fredericton. Tickets will be available online or by calling (506) 453-5054. The box office at the Aitken University Centre is open on week days between noon and 4 p.m. and will open 90 minutes before game time on Friday. “We appreciate the flexibility and understanding of our fans,” said Jenner. “We know they will show their support for our Wildcats for this important game.” -30-

That is pure and utter BS on behalf of wildcats and the piss poor manager named Ryan "my suits to small" Jenner. Why the fuck do the regular public who purchased tickets get equal crack at seats as season ticket holders. So much for guaranteed seats.

I was sure you meant 7 AM" Who said they double booked? I'm sure the car show had a signed contract with the City for their show in the Agrena/Coliseun including the ice surface a long time ago. As I said in a previous post, they've had the ice surface for years and years. There is nothing new here. The way I see it is that the WC announced a game with the hope of figuring it out later and hoping for the best.

My hunch is the Cats booked it hoping the car show would bend and allow them use of the ice surface...and they didn't...

I find it interesting that City Council had to have a special meeting about this situation - that makes me think that the city approved the game, and now they find themselves unable to deliver the venue. If the Cats were at fault, why would the city need to approve anything to move the venue? If they really are ponying up $125K, that makes me think someone on the city side messed up.

Or the Cats knew they'd lose big playing Thursday night and booked Friday knowing the contract...City found out after the schedule was finalized...

My thought exactly - City would not be forking over tax payer dollars to the Irvings if this was not somehow there fault in not living up to a contract ... Joe Taxpayer who could care less about hockey and has a hate-on for everything Irving is going to be outraged over this ... Can't wait for the article on the CBC site to read the comments section - think I am going to get my popcorn ready and sit back and enjoy the show.

Mayor Leblanc seems to be using this scheduling conflict to promote the downtown arena that only he seems to want. Maybe this double-booking was all part of his master plan.

If they knew about the conflict beforehand, Why didn't they propose a 2-3-2 format with game 6-7 Monday and Tuesday?

I think everybody wants it, the issue is finding funding for it. Maybe once the province gets it's books in order...I predict is gets approved within 2-3 years before the next election.
