But he wouldn't have to cut the whole show by half a day, just the Coliseum part. Exactly - his revenue would probably be close to the same ... Paying customers probably no impact - if anything you might gain a few if some of the 4,000 plus heading to the Cats game decide to go early and swing by the show. Would probably have to compensate some of the vendors/exhibitors (the ones bumped from ice surface), bu I can't imagine that would cost > $125k ... How does the Cats lease read for concessions? Is it possible the Cats run and keep all concessions profits in the building for all events, including Speed Sport? I am not so certain the organizers get to keep concessions profits anyway ... To compensate for the cars that couldn't get in the show, the organisers could charge ppl to go on the Canadian Tire parking lot on Mountain Road to see the same cars.

Well ... I think they typically draw 25,000 for a weekend. Last time I went tickets were up over $10 ... say $12 ... so $300,000 in ticket revenue. There are many many vendors (car dealers, motorcycle dealers, etc.) that would all have to pay for space, depending on the floor space they take up. The "hot rods" wouldn't be paying for space, but they probably have a small registration fee if they want to considered for prizes. Probably a decent concession revenue as well. It could be something close to $500,000 in revenue for the 3 days they are there. There are also many expenses involved ... so profit is probably over half of the revenue. If you paid Turner $100,000 to shorten his show by a half day (drop Friday), he'd probably seriously consider it. But he wouldn't have to cut the whole show by half a day, just the Coliseum part. True ... but unless you jam all of the cars/displays into the Agrena for Friday, anybody buying a ticket for Friday won't get the same value that they'd get on Saturday when things are in the Coliseum ... they wouldn't see everything. You'd have to reduce the cost on Friday. You are probably better off to just not run Friday night.

My biggest issue right now (again for me only) isnt the commute, its the potential for seats with my nose on the glass. They have to come up with a way to guarantee prime seats for season ticket holders, its not enough to just say we guarantee your ticket will get you in. Like was previously said do i have to leave at 1 or 2pm and get in line there for a good seat. What is to stop a bunch of locals who see "oh there is a playoff hockey game here" from grabbing up all the quality seats before we even arrive to get in line from out of town?
