I seen online, cleared to start skating again and working to get back on the ice; no chance he plays for Quebec this year but in June unless a stipulation has been agreed on he becomes Halifax property. So that is good news for us, I don't expect him to be a force next year right away after a year off I imagine it will take some time.

Probably gets traded over Christmas, right? He'll be one of the better 19-year-old defencemen in the Q next year and the Mooseheads are in rebuild mode. Good to see that he's getting healthy though.

Donaghey and Fitzgerald will be one of the better pairs in the league next year. We should be able to move one or both of them for a good return.

Unless he falls on his face, Winnipeg will keep Ehlers, he has nothing left to prove in the Q putting up 2 PPGM.

Winnipeg is stacked with young forwards and the GM has a reputation for not rushing talent... We'll see!

The other ones, they can stick in the AHL and not kill their development. Sending Ehlers back would hurt his deveopment. He has no challenges left. What kind of year do you think Drouin would be having if he played in the AHL last year? I think Ehlers would have to play his way off the team next fall.

Rebuild mode I don't mind this kind of rebuild, for a team that the last 4 years in the post-season let me refresh your memory 2012- Round 3, Game 6 against Rimouski 2013-Won the Presidents and Memorial cup 2014-Round 3, Game 7 against VD 2015- Round 2, Game 7 against Moncton still playing!

I think the CHL/NHL agreement is very important to the CHL ... but I don't think it should work against the development of a player. There has to be a balance. Perhaps some sort of "exceptional status" should be assigned to certain players. Patrice Bergeron got to the AHL at 19 ... but he played NHL at 18. Still ... it was all about his development and he was sort of given "exceptional status".

Bergeron played AHL only because of the NHL lockout
hopefully we don't need that situation to occur again to grant your exceptional status

Maybe they do a thing where a top 10 pick could be given eligibility to play AHL. Usually it is the top 10 picks who looks too good for junior after 18 at times. As a CHL fan I don't like it, but sometimes players really need to move to the next level by 19.

There should be some sort of evaluation done by people at the 3 levels (CHL/AHL/NHL), not attached to any of the teams involved, to decide if a player should be given the "get out of CHL free" card. They should have to wait until 19 ... first of all. If they aren't ready to play NHL at 18, then they should be sent back ... going by birth year I mean (19 YOs are 1995s this season). And ... perhaps only one player per year per CHL league can get the status. That way a league isn't losing 2 or more box office draws.

He falls on his face quite often I'm getting tired all the BS commentary towards Ehlers... ... he braces himself before actually falling on his face.
