Diving is not a part of the game...it is something the NHL and other leagues are trying desperately to keep out of the game. Play with honor.if you ain't cheating then you are playing the game properly. If you're not cheating you're not trying. Playing with honor doesn't earn you any goals or wins. Playing with an edge and pushing the limits on what is or is not a penalty though can absolutely benefit a team. Hockey is a game built on trying to find an edge by exploiting the rules. Always has been. That's why coaches preach defense and smart play that usually involves systems and players who push the limits on what is or is not a penalty. If I slash you 10 times and get 0 penalties but you retaliate once and get called, that's on you. Hockey has always been a sport to punish the retaliation as much as the initial act itself. Honor has nothing to do with playing and winning sports games. If the NHL or other leagues wanted to rid their game of diving they would just penalize it. But they don't. They tend to penalize both 99% of the time even though the act of diving and it being called should pretty much exonerate the player on the other end of it. If I hook you and you don't fall, it's not a hooking penalty so why is it if I hook you and you dive and get called for diving? The NHL doesn't really want to expose divers. They want them to think shaming them at $2000 per every few dives and keeping a list is what will make players stop. All they have to do is penalize JUST the dive and it stops in a heartbeat, especially come playoff time. I agree with most of that. You don't have to fall to get a hooking call ... you just need to impede the player. I'd rather see them issue a 2:00 and 10:00 to the diver ... and if it came from a hook, call the hook.

Moose squeezing blood from a stone now...gritty effort to tie. Thin up front but top line giving it their all. And it still takes 5 infractions before they'll call anything against Halifax ... brutal.

Maybe if your 2nd overall team showed some resemblance of a 2nd overall team you wouldn't be pleading for the refs help.

The way the Moncton folks are whining, you would think this is the league final with the top 2 seeded teams going at it.

" MOOSE win this game, and becomes a game for the history books" I think that was just Moncton fans booing Bent ... he isn't well liked in Moncton going back to his SJ days. I'll be sure to quote you on that.
