Someday Fredericton will have a team. They just might need a rink of their own first and not one owned by UNB.
Game 5 is tonight, and the Moose get to travel to Fredericton to face the Cats. I'm surprisingly calm (docile?) heading into tonight's game. Not knowing the status of Gadoury, Fortier or Watt, I'm not expecting much for the rest of the series. I'm only looking for a solid effort. If we can somehow squeak out a win tonight, we can put the pressure back on Moncton.
Go Moose!!

Hold on now... let's wait until he proves something before determining if he is a good coach.

To be clear John Moore tweeted out last night Fortier and Gadoury did not even make the trip to Fredericton.
Watt and Hunter did make the trip. Parker was on the bus.
I think we need Nik Ehlers to put on a first period show to wooo the partially impartial Fredericton fans a little. If he can create some excitement we could gain a few supporters in that game. Nothing like a deke fest to do it.

I can see Parker getting a few minutes tonight if he has a good first shift. He should be on the team next year.

We will need everyone to play as they did last game basically, but get a big game from the top line. The depth guys (lines 2-4) need to limit the mistakes and play a gritty safe game. Ehlers and Co will need to fill the net. If Cavan Fitzgerald is going to be the big point shot for this team, he will need to keep it on net.
In a sense it might help us playing in Fredericton. If this were back in Moncton I wouldn't be feeling too good about them being in the comforts of their own rink with momentum. Being in Fredericton, they will be a bit out of their comfort zone, as we will. Neither team will know the bounces well, or how the sold out crowd could impact the game.

I'm very impressed with the Mooseheads breakout when they actually get control of the puck in their own zone. It can be a fire drill in the D zone at times due to the inexperience but one good pass and even the 3rd line looks like an offensive threat skating through the middle on a regular basis. To beat the #5 team and be tied with the #2 team 2-2 with 2 convincing wins and 2 one goal losses (including an OT loss) this team has exceeded all expectations and still has more to come. Looking forward to the next 2, maybe 3 games.

Not prediciting scores, just hoping for a good game were the boys grind out a win Hunter and Watt will be game time decisions. As I've learned with a Dom coached team never ever count these guys out, I'm very proud of them so far hope their strong play continues on the road.

All lines were able to move the puck up ice, and through the neutral zone with some nice puck movement. You can tell everyone is on the same page.

Doesn't that prove my stance? Stay calm. I'm not gonna complain about injuries. It's the playoffs and these things happen. We're not the better team with those three in the lineup. We have been playing like it this series however. Being a fan of a sports team doesn't mean you need to think they're the best team in the world all the time. You can cheer for a team and have faith in them, and still be a realist. I'm a wreck when I'm at the rink watching the game. But on the forums I try to remain calm and think things through logically. Logically, Halifax is the underdog in this series, and I'm extremely pleased at how they've played so far. If they lose in 6 or 7, that sucks. But we've had a pretty entertaining season. Call it a shitty or a defeatist attitude. It's not. It's a realist attitude. Cheer for your team to the bitter end, but keep a level head.

I disagree Reesor. Be a realist after the season is over, be it next week or a month from now. No time for that in the middle of the series, can only have a one-track mind where losing isn't being considered.

No time for that in the middle of the series, can only have a one-track mind where losing isn't being considered. That's how it is at the rink for me. My mindset is on winning. Almost give myself aneurysms sometimes. On here, it's fair and honest sports discussion regardless of the teams/players involved. At least I try most of the time.
