Bent was given a minor and a game misconduct so he should have been in the penalty box.
I've never heard of a player serving a bench misconduct before though!

Not Bent but someone else since he was kicked out, and since there were two Halifax minors and one Moncton minor on the same stoppage, just one needed to be there (C. Moynihan).

Couldn't agree with you more about the Moncton announcers - good lord "Naw" instead of "Nauss" - did the SS fall off his jersey in Moncton or something? Unfortunately there is at least a 30/40 second delay in 95.7 and the webcast. You can pause the TV to try to get them lined up ... probably pause the internet radio feed also. It might take 3 hrs to get them in line though ... lol. Why would you pause both? That makes no sense. You only have to pause whichever is ahead which would usually be the one not using the internet. If it takes him 3 hours to do then he shouldn't be using technology. Not sure how you can prefer a monotone guy like Moore more but I can understand how you wouldn't like the bias of the Moncton announcer. There is maybe a slight delay if you are listening to John Moore via the radio stations website but as long as you have a PVR you can just pause the game and hit play to get it in sync. It might take you a few minutes but it could be worth it if it enhances your viewing experience. Best of luck. I don't enjoy Moore either! Some of the best announcers I've heard are the Rimouski ones. I'm a bit biased but I find the CB guy is the best and I've watched a ton of Q games.

I think it was a team misconduct and Bent was selected to serve it. I think several players chirped. When all was said and done and the ref was about to drop the puck again...the head official made one more trip to the scorers bench to clarify they got the penalties right. Then he made the ejection signal. Bent was still on the Halifax bench. He got up and walked out the glass door behind the bench to the dressing room. No theatrics...no cross ice skate out the end door under section 13... He just walked out. I really think he was elected to serve a penalty at random. It probably is not suspendable. There was some uncertainty as to who if anyone had to leave the ice. REALLY??? You should change your name to "yesiwaswrongfirst" Only thing remotely near a bench misconduct is when the coach gets kicked out. If Bent was on the bench, it was because he knew he did something wrong and was trying to hide there. Also, in the game summary. It doesn't say Team/Bench like in the too many men penalties. It says Kelly Bent. I did say "I think." Somebody has to setve every penalty. Even if the coach gets a penalty a player has to serve it. The thing is Bent was put in the box and then they sent him back out of the box and told him to go to the bench. He didnt make any fuss its like when a team send a guy out to serve a too many men penalty. Very non-chalant. Then just before the puck drop the ref and scorer had a discussion and then they summoned to the Halifax bench he had to leave. So he left...again just left down the tunnel. Its open to interpretation. On film Bent himself doesnt appear to do anything.

Well ... if Bent was out ... we would have heard by now. I'd like to understand the ruling though.

How exactly is sitting in the dressing room ineleigible to return not considered serving a misconduct. Also for accounting purposes a game misconduct is recorded as 10 minutes in the PiM column

And a misconduct and game misconduct are recorded as 0 minutes. (Bent had a minor and game misconduct but his recorded penalty minutes are 2)

Even the 10-minute penalties are not counted in the penalty totals.

Probably old news, but tonight's game is on Eastlink.
What I didn't realize, is that it's also available to Eastlink subscribers online through "Eastlink to go". So if you were at work with no TV you could still get the game. Even with Eastlink having the rights, I didn't think they'd get the goahead to stream it online.

May as well just count fouls like the NBA does if they go down that road...

They would pad their totals with misconducts. I think they stopped counting them the year after Roy beat Morency's record.
