Not a troll post, it is how I really feel. Instead of accusing me of being a troll, which I'm pretty sure as posters on the forum we aren't supposed to do, tell me why you feel what I'm saying is wrong or what you disagree with. I did…. the first time you posted this stupid thread.

Stupid question....of course the Mooseheads could get a replacement....but why would they want to? Ian does a great job....part of that job being to engage the crowd. They could find anybody to "just simply read who scored" but that's not all that position is. If anything should go it should be the dancing pizza slice! Isn't the goal being scored and being part of a roaring crowd engaging enough?

I'm not sure what the issue is, he's no different than say the guy at the Bell Centre in Montreal or any other rink for that matter.

There is no issue.... at least not to most lol It's just a fake issue for Guru. He just proved the point I made earlier. And he obviously lacks imagination since he had to repeat the same thing as a couple of years ago.

I don't even work in the media, if I lack imagination, imagine what you must think of some of the leading journalists out there. Catnut resorts to personal attacks, don't recall Guru attacking Catnut.

I have considerable experience as an announcer at many events including hockey. You always walk that fine line between enthusiasm and over the top. I think a good practice for all announcers is to record yourself during a live event. Wait 24hrs and listen to the recording. You will easily know if you are making people cringe
and Ian Robinson does a very good job

The Mooseheads are very loyal to people working with them. Its Ian's job as long as he wants it.
What would be nice is if they could get around to announcing penalties a little faster. When you are in the crowd and not abke to tell what are the penalty calls are and it gets announced sometimes a minute into play it is very frustrating. Its not like a goal call where they need to maybe review video to determine an assist. The PA guy is right there when the ref reports to call to the official scorers and penalty timekeepers.

Our PA guy is up in the press box ... goals and penalties have to be relayed by the official scorer.

I don't like how Ian over-emphasizes and "bellows" every player name. It gets annoying, but not annoying enough to make a topic about it.... twice....
