I didn't find the officiating bad last night. I thought the hooking call on Barbs was soft (from my vantage point), and there was one missed call on Que, but other than that, I can't recall anything blatant either way that upset me. Yeah from the replay they probably could have called Barbashev for Ehlering on that one. Nothing overly blatant was missed.

Fucale played well ... but was not tested ... we didn't have the legs and didn't have the emotion elevated enough to make it difficult for him. Why do you care what our attendance is ? In my best Moose Board imitation ... "Go back to your own board troll !!" Believe it or not, I am interested in the attendance for all the Maritime teams. It is something I look at. I want the Q to be successful here, so we are able to keep all the teams going here...well, maybe not Bathurst. lol. And you think because we have a poor attendance for a playoff game that we are now unsuccessful ? We have been 3rd or 4th in attendance in The Q for as many years as the Wildcats have been here (not the Alpines). We typically average 4400 a night over the year ... but playoffs are a different beast because the corporate support drops off. How many times have you gone on the SJ board this year to question their attendance ? They have taken a significant drop. You should be very concerned.

Non corporate season ticket holders all attend. The excess capacity up to a sell out is walk up crowd. The first series ended Tuesday and the next series started Thursday - so it was not probably expected in most peoples minds that the next series would start that fast. I am impressed the Remparts made it to Moncton for that game on that short notice - and they do not have other things that come first in their lives like jobs, family commitments, kids activities, etc... Its only game 1. Tickets went on sale Wednesday - the Saturday game will be better represented.

I had someone at the office ask me this morning if I was going to Game 1 tonight - they hadn't even heard it started last night, just assumed that the first game of round 3 would be on Friday night.

The Remparts were sitting in QC on Tuesday night ... waiting to find out if they were staying home or going on the road to start Rd 3. When Moncton won at 9:30 PM on Tuesday night ... a call went out to each player to say that the bus was leaving at 8:00 AM the next morning. They would have arrived Wednesday night probably by 6:00 PM or a little later. Or ... they had a flight chartered and arrived here by lunch time on Wednesday. Why are you "impressed the Remparts made it to Moncton for that game on that short notice" ? Teams do that all season. Maybe you thought they were travelling by wagon train ?

I was actually on the Fog Devils board just the other day voicing my concerns.

Watched the game last night on Rogers and thought it was a very entertaining game.. Quebec seems to be getting their game together and Moncton needs to work a lot harder to win this series...Those announcers are something else though.. I've listened to a lot of game on the radio and on TV and these jokers have got to be the worse I ever heard....

Good/successful/championship teams always find a way to get to the top despite what is thrown at them, or what they perceive is being to their disadvantage(Rumble's action today's paper). The Refs,League, attendance, fatigue etc,etc......... Whatever. Get on the ice, play your game and find a way.

There's plenty of excuses out there, but no matter how you slice it, having 3,300 for a THIRD round playoff game is pretty pathetic.
Just seems to me like the city really hasn't embraced this team at all. Which is incredibly strange considering they fought for first overall all year and had a very exciting team. Obviously there's some economic factors out there, but to see attendance go down this season is a bit alarming. Only started to get big crowds at the end of the season when a gazillion two for one coupons were floating around.

They cancelled the event at the Colisée Pepsi so the arena is available all week. Rumble won't be happy!
