assuming that Gosselin and Belanger will be two of three 20's for this year and this is supposed to be the go for it year, thoughts on who the Eagles should look to add as the third 20. A player like Jeremie Gregoire would be a good add but he is already signed to pro contract by Montreal and may well be in the AHL next year. Mark Simpson from Bathurst might be a good add as well, maybe Dumont might not add the third 20 until Christmas when the Eagles see what the needs are and who is available. Thoughts please.

I would think the Screaming Eagles would be looking to get a solid starting goalie that can play 40-50 games. This might cost them picks and or current players. Not sure if using a 20 spot on Belanger as a backup makes sense or if he would even be interested. Gosselin makes sense for 1 of the spotsspots as he is a good two way defenseman. Jacob Smith would also makes sense as an overage spot as he had a great playoffs and fit it well on the top lines when needed. He can also play an energy role and PP and PK. Nosella might be on the outside looking in unfortunately as there are a lot of defenseman coming back. He was fun to watch though. Sullivan had a great run for a month or so and would be a suitable backup but not sure again if Dumont has plans for an overage spot for a backup. There are a lot of decisions to be made in the next few months and I for one would love to see a solid starting goalie as their #1 priority whether it's an overage or not. It will be an exciting 2015/16 season which we will be favored to win the league.

Plus he allegedly has a shitty attitude. The last thing this team needs is a player with a shitty attitude. We had enough of them.

Not unless Drummondville trades him ? Why would Drummondville keep DeLuca? To finish in 17th instead of 18th? Lol.

He's good and has a lot of experience both in regular season and playoffs. He's a guy that would be fine to start with the maybe reevaluate at Christmas time. Plus you can maybe pick one of the highly touted goalies at the 6th pick in the draft with him already in place. In know last year that is what was sorta the idea with Brassard, but he's a better goalie then Brassard is.

Unless you had 2 impact 20's lined up and needed an overage spot I think drafting someone high and going with he and Belanger to start the season is the best way to go. Smith and Nosella are just not good enough to be 20's on a contender. Smith could stick in the league somewhere but Nosella is not good enough. Sullivan's best bet will be Jr A or CIS. Nobody wants a 20yo backup. It's Gosselin, Belanger, and a 3rd spot currently unfilled until something out of left field happens.

Not unless Drummondville trades him ? So you're saying he's going to be playing for Bathurst?

I feel like that if Jacob Smith could produce 20-25 goals and still be the very good energy player he was this year I would have him as a twenty year old on my team, defence it will be Gosselin, I hate to see Nosella go cause he was a personal favorite but he is not good enough to be a twenty unless on a shitty team, as for Belanger or Sullivan I would take Sullivan over Belanger every time! Sullivan as starter and either Colby Muise or a high draft pick as backup.

Agree with that logic, Smith could play the first half and see how it works out, if not, go after another 20 at Christmas. As for Sullivan or Belanger, I see it being Belanger as Dumont anointed him the number one guy during the playoffs although I would take Sullivan myself. Just another example of Dumont mishandling the goaltenders and I need not comment any further on that issue. One thing for sure, I would not be trading a number 4 or 6 pick for a 20 year old, would have to get a solid 18 or 19 year old plus to give one of those picks.

What about going out to the WHL like they did that year bringing in Hayes who was a really good #1 .....or the OHL for that matter ?

Fully agree Hal, some free agents to fill the holes would be great, save and use our draft picks instead of trading them. Our last venture into Ontario for free agents was not good but we have had good success in the past.

The love for Sullivan and smith won't help. Neither should be in the lineup come September. Smith played well yes, but a 3/4th liner on a contender? Give you're damn heads a shake.

Our last venture into Ontario for free agents was not good but we have had good success in the past. That was Vincent and his scouts. Some solid pickups from Ontario though. Davenport and McIlveen were solid. I am sure I am missing a few.
