What's everyone think of 20 afternoon games and only 14 evening games? The afternoon games are 2pm,3pm, and 4pm start times. I just compared schedule with calendar. So it seems at quick glance Saturday games are at 4pm Sunday's at 3pm. Just cause we have team full of Americans doesn't mean we need to watch hockey at their times does it? I call BS in my opinion.

I don't know if they think that this will help bring more families, but a lot of us with families already have commitments during the day with our children, and this start time on Saturdays does not work. I checked all other maritime teams, wondering if it was a Q decision or a Wildcats decision and we are the only maritime team with all 4pm Saturday games. I don't like this schedule and will likely result in asking for my money back for season tickets this year.

Wow you're kidding right? 20 afternoon games? I'm a die hard fan, or at least I thought I was, but this could be the nail in the coffin for me as a season ticket holder.

I have hated the Sunday afternoon games at 4:00 for the last 5 or so years. I often give those tickets away. 3:00 is better ... but having 20 of our 34 games on Saturday and Sunday afternoon has me rethinking my season ticket commitment.
The whole purpose is to get more familes there ... and it will probably work. However, what I hate most about those afternoon games is having so many screaming kids that aren't watching the game ... kicking my seat ... blowing a horn in my ear ... spilling drinks on me ... and getting amped up on sugar as the game goes along ... and the parents not paying any attention to them. I put up with it year after year ... bite my tongue ... but have begun to dispise the afternoon games because of it.

I put up with it year after year ... bite my tongue ... but have begun to dispise the afternoon games because of it. I don't experience any of those things because everyone around me has season tickets and there are no children. Rightfully so, I wouldn't want my kids to sit right behind the visitors bench either. But afternoon hockey games are usually a chore to attend. You're pretty much committing your full day to the Wildcats when attending an afternoon game due the the constraint it puts on you being able to do other things that day such as skiing, golfing, skating, etc. Saturday was the only day I was able to go out for supper with some friends and have a few beer before the game without being rushed. We sometimes went Friday's too but with working till 5, I've missed a few national anthems and had to rush through my meal. Saturday's were great, you could go to the restaurant around 4:30 and have lots of time for a few beer and your meal. Now, not only can I not do that, but to avoid eating canteen food I have to either eat supper at 2PM or 7PM 20 times? No thanks. There's so many factors that have me hating this decision that I could probably double my post count by mentioning them all. It seems extreme but I'm not even exaggerating when I say I'm about 80% sure I will cancel my tickets and fight for my money back. I'm not sure how legally binding my commitment based on getting playoff tickets is, but I'm not worried. I have a good lawyer.

Some things to note:
- 8 of 12 on the road to start the season (should help with attendance later on) - 3 3-in-3's (Oct 9-11 @bac, @chi, @que) (Nov 12-14 @sj, HAL, CAP) (Dec 4-6 @sj, ROU, VD) - No 3-in-3's after the new year - Afternoon games have been mentioned - From Jan 9 to Feb 21 they play 11 of 16 at home - they get BAC, GAT, SHA, VD on the last game of their 3-in-3 in the Maritimes, and CHI the last of a 3-in-4 - they get BAT at home on BAT's last of a 3-in-3 and a 3-in 4, CHA at home on their 3rd of a 3-in-4, SJ once as well - 19 of their home games are vs an opponent on the second of a back-to-back
weekend game times aside this seems like a pretty favourable schedule.

Well...you can pretty much blame the casual fans for this. Last season the Cats didn't have as many afternoon games as usual and attendance was down. It also seemed like the majority of the afternoon games that they did have were normally pretty well attended. The writing was on the wall for this happening, although I didn't think it would be quite so extreme.
I do like 3 PM instead of 4 PM because the games will generally end around 5:15 and I can handle a bit of a later supper. I could also live with the occasional Saturday afternoon game, but to have them ALL in the afternoon? That's pretty ridiculous. I always liked the atmosphere of a Saturday night game and to not have that at all is very strange.
Overall having more afternoon games than evening games is a big two thumbs down.

That's a long drive between the first 2 games. Never mind, the last 2 are home games.

Hmmm interesting. Took a look at Halifax schedule - 9 out of 10 Saturday games are at 7PM (last game of year at 4PM). And we have 4 Sunday games which are all afternoon games.
So we have 5 games in the afternoon on weekends... vs. your 20. That's crazy, but if the Wildcat marketing are seeing a clear increase in fans attending afternoon games, it makes sense. The plus side is people still have their evenings free. I don't mind afternoon games because in November or January etc I enjoy getting out late in the afternoon while its still light, and watching a game. I still have most of my morning and afternoon free, and have my evening freed up for friends or just staying in on a cold winter night and watching the game(s).

I would tend to be on the flip side of most on here with regards to the afternoon game times ... Now that my kids are getting older, the Friday and Saturday night games seldom work for us, as they typically have minor hockey on the weekend with either an early morning, or a curfew the night before their game. I had season tickets for about 15 years ... gradually stopped doing the weeknight games after the kids were born, then eventually let them go last year altogether due to an increasing number of weekend games we couldn't make. I am not 100% sure whether 4 pm Saturday games would make us go more often or not ... but I am certain they won't make me go any less than I did last year.

I agree with much of the negative commentary on those weekend times. If the intent is to get more families with kids, well just may x me out for sure as a seasons ticket holder. It will just be one “effing” carnival atmosphere especially with those yapping on-air DJ types and that intermission on ice crap – which will probably increase. I will see how it goes at season start if unbearable for me, that’s it I am done. I paid via my Visa on the latest monthly term so I will just advise my CC Institution not to authorize any future deductions and that will take care of it.

I've had at least two season tickets since 1997 , this change will put an end to that. We've decided not to renew.

With some reluctance and some attitude from office lady wildcats refunded balance from playoff tickets.

For those of you who are cancelling their season tickets: Did anyone have seats in a good location, I may upgrade if your seats were good!

For those of you who are cancelling their season tickets: Did anyone have seats in a good location, I may upgrade if your seats were good! I was able to move my seats to a more desirable location ... otherwise I was not renewing. I had Ryan Jenner work something out for me ... told him I was very disappointed with all of the afternoon games.
