Hard to believe camp is in less than a month from starting. It'll be interesting to see some of the battles for roster spots (especially the 20 year olds), how players fit on what lines; how the defence pairings work out. Also, it'll be good to see some of the draftees perform at camp.

I think Lepage will end up being quite a steal from where we drafted him. I am happy with the players we have in our stable. Also looking forward to seeing Bowers in a Moose jersey.

I'm not holding my breath on Bowers becoming a Moosehead. Not the direction I would go anyway.

I'm not holding my breath on Bowers becoming a Moosehead. Not the direction I would go anyway. In no way would I mortgage the future for Bowers. I consider our 2 2016 first rounders untouchable, but if we could do the Moynihans, they could use a top line centre, and Donaghey, throw in any other roster player. Maybe a draft picks in 2017. I know CB fans would laugh at that deal, but it would help them in their quest this Season. The 9th overall pick next year is not going to help them for awhile.

I think it was mostly Bowers' agent that didn't want him to go to CB. As for Bowers himself, I doubt it matters to him that much. The price Cape Breton would want from the Mooseheads would be exhorbinant; not worth it over the long haul.
I'd rather deal Donaghey and Moynihan seperately, barring an offer I couldn't refuse.

If a trade happens, it would almost certainly include one of those 2 picks. I for one would be completely fine in dealing one of those picks in a package for Bowers. Both Halifax and Quebec could easily finish mid pack making that a 8-12 overall pick. Bowers is #1 OA in most Q drafts, I don't see the issue trading a 1st round pick to acquire that type of player.

The more I think about it the more I wouldn't mind giving up our own 2016 first. Depending on trades, it really doesn't look like Halifax will finish in the bottom 5.

That's exactly what I've been saying. But people on here think this draft is more important and we can trade these picks to get into the top 3 picks anyway. Which also makes no sense because teams with multiple first rounders couldn't do it this year with "weaker top end talent." So why will it change next year?

I only tried to make that point how many times now!

Depends on what Russell is thinking, if there's some talk about moving Meier which should be a big return for the youth movement then I wouldn't think of them moving their 1st round pick next year because this team could have issues scoring... They may still have scoring troubles with Meier.

Impressive numbers, maybe a bit small (115lbs).
