well it appears that higgins is gone. i guess daddy buying part of the moose heads with a skybox too didn't get it done this year. guaranteed next though lol. no w he says he IS GOING TO PLAY for the bearcats.wow. i guess a skybox goes further in truro. i watched him and he just kinda blended in in midget. there are lots of big fast freight trains in the train town of truro. just be careful playing with the big boys... say wha? Is he the son of Paul Higgins, former Leaf? www.hockeyfights.com/forums/f18/who-remembers-paul-higgins-44698/

I was a couple years younger than Ben's father playing in Truro. His uncle coached me for 4-5 years. If Ben has the smarts that his father and uncle have for the game then the Mooseheads have a pretty good player for the future. I felt really old when I saw his name came up drafted by the Mooseheads back in June.

He was very highly thought of at this camp & Ben will be a moosehead in the near future & he has the smarts just needs to fill out more & growing upward a bit would help as well, he was the last rookie forward cut at this camp.

i didn't say they weren't i just said they couldn't compare IMO. and just because i don't agree with what you think doesn't mean i know nothing about hockey...give your head a shake buddy!!! Okay so in your mind Jody Shelley was and still is God- to say that Fournier and Critchlow don't even compare to Shelley is ridiculous. Shelley was a great captain and those two, especially Fournier, aren't that far behind. Yes the other 2 were good captains, but Shelley is certainly a step above. For the simple fact the he put a team on his shoulders and carried them farther than they should have. He made everyone on the team a little taller, a little bigger and little tougher when the league was a lot rougher. Those 2 that you mentioned did have a far greater supporting cast.

Bored so I looked at San Jose's site......interesting that Jeremy Roy is listed as a prospect but Timo is on their regular roster......does this mean he's not coming back this year? Any thoughts??

The board is so quiet this year....I hope the regular season brings more excitement Go Moose Go!!!! Yes it's real shocking to see a lack of discussion during a two week layoff between the roster being picked and the team playing its first meaningful game.

I really hope no one is panicking about anything. We're in another in-between season, but we aren't in limbo. We look to have a plan, and it's going to take a bit to get back to a top-tier team, but we'll get there. This is another season of us fans getting to watch younger players develop and hopefully steal a few wins here and there. No pressure on the Moose to perform this season. They'll take their lumps and be a better team for it later on.

The only people who would be panicking are the people who don't have a clue about how junior hockey works and can't see the forest for the trees when it comes to the current status of the team and the future that is readily apparent. 8 rookies are on this team along with 3 17 year olds who were 16s last year. For the 2016 draft the Mooseheads have all of their draft picks plus an extra 1st and 3rd from Quebec. They will also have a high Euro pick next year as well. It is actually a great time to be rebuilding seeing as how St. John is set up for the next 2-3 years anyways and how the Eagles and Islanders are set up for this year for sure and maybe a year after that. Hopefully these teams get in a bidding war to bring their teams a title so we can benefit from inflated prices on the trade market and these teams have to rebuild a year or so earlier because of going for it and that coincides right when the Mooseheads are on the way up. Look at it this way- I see our team being very similar to the 2010-2011 team except the Mooseheads have an actual first line, better goaltending, and a much better coach than that team did. They will do okay this year compared to what we have seen in the past ( from 2008-2011) and they will most likely sell to help accelerate the rebuild and give the fans a few playoff games in March then it is on to the 2016 draft. They get 2 blue chip prospects in that first round along with a 17 year blue chip Euro and they enter the 2016-2017 season with a nucleus of 17s and 18s supplemented by a couple star 16s. I wouldn't begrudge watching the team lose way more than they win after Xmas this year if it meant having what I am alluding to... be even better if Quebec sucks worse than the Mooseheads so as well.

Argento is suspended the first two games of the season. (Hunter would have been too)
