Since training camp is less than a month away, thought it was time for a new thread. Expecting camp to open around August 10-11th with approximately 45-50 players attending. Not a whole lot of spots open, barring any trades the defence is pretty much set. The top 6 forwards are just about set, expect Ranger and Fournier to start in the top 6. Hope we find another gem in Peyton Hoyt like Dubois, Bowers still a mystery. Should be an interesting camp.

Hoyt is going to be interesting to watch, very little pressure at all for a 6th overall pick.
Would love to have found another gem like Dubois but I'm expecting like maybe a Balmas type impact for his 16 year old season anyway. . 3rd/4th line and some 2nd pp time.

Hoyt easily has the potential to do better than Balmas in his rookie year, question is really about his ice time and what he will likely get.

Dubois - Svechnikov - Lazarev Fournier - Bishop - Ranger Boucher - Martineau - Hoyt MacSween - Tower - D. Smith Leveille - LeBlanc Gosselin - MacIntyre Deschamps - Beaudin I could see something like that being sort of close to the line up when everyone is back from NHL camps, definitely some offensive opportunity with Martineau, and hopefully he can even work his way up to the 2nd line if he deserves it.

Also omitted Bowers/whatever Bowers returns if we trade him.

I also see Bonaparte instead of MacSween.I don't believe MacSween was given much of a chance last year and Bonaparte is younger and much the same type player,3rd-4th liner. Remember, Dumont made one of his brilliant coaching moves last year when he called up Matt paul( a Dman) and played him at forward and MacSween sat as a healthy scratch? Anyone have any thoughts on the goaltending?

I hope that Leveille, Leblanc and Gosselin come in to camp in great shape. They are going to have to log a ton of minutes. That defense is thin. I thought we drafted someone who could step in or in a trade. We are a top 4 defenseman and a top 6 forward away. No room for injury right now.

Barring any further trades, I think one one or two of Baillergon, Paul or Dower making the team on defence.Dower and Paul are both right hand shots while Baillergon is a leftie. Baillergon was a big disappointment at camp last year while I thought Dower did well and I was surprised when he got cut. As far as goaltending is concerned, looks like Belanger is No.1 with backup wide open.

He looked really good in Camp last year . I am guessing that Sullivan is going to JR A ?

IMHO, I think that Sullivan is a better goaltender than Belanger and I think he proved that last year.Having said that, Dumont anointed Belanger as the No.1 guy so it will probably be him. Will be interesting to see what Dumont will do if Sullivan comes to camp and outplays Belanger.

Not sure but his name is on the list. Still nothing about the two invitees, O'Hallaran and Sorrentino. The last time Dumont brought in Ontario kids he did a press release about three weeks prior to camp with a little story on them.

Give it up on Sullivan. Guys nothing but a solid back up. To be honest, I think we even upgrade at Xmas on Belanger.
