I heard that Leger had two goals today. What are the chances of having Leger, Askew, Garland on the first line?

Hodge again this morning stated that the Klima's are "expected to play on the top 2 lines this season". Based on their combined 1 point in 31 games OHL plus 13 combined points in 44 games in a pretty weak Jr.A league, either it's just hype so nobody talks about all the guys NOT showing up or the Cats will ice a doormat team that will get blown out most games.

With the minutes the first line plays and having a decent 3rd line...the second scoring line really only plays 3rd to 4th line minutes.

Reminds me of the Mike Fournier summer...

After watching the first 3 scrimmages, I would debate that the Klimas should be ahead of Wiederer in the line up. In my opinion, he hasn't shown anything. Although nobody in this years camp has shown much and stuck out.

Being 19, you'd think he would really stand out in inter squad against mostly MAAA level talent.

Didn't see the game this morning but thought Cormier and Corson competed last night.Ramin and Holwell also show signs of wanting to compete. Some seemed like they were still playing pick up. Leger will have a big year if paired with Garland...great in offensive zone. Leishman could also be an effective player. Thought Askew put on some size but coasted as did Miurphy.

Askew and Murphy are notorious for needing regular kicks in the pants to get going.

I never read much into how guys who are locks (Weiderer, Askew, Murphy. etc.) perform in scrimmages, but that's just me.
For what's it worth I thought Wiederer has looked really strong on the puck and distributes it well. Not super fast, but decent speed and a pretty good skater.
DeStefani wasn't playing this morning. Did he go home already?

Billy in mid-season form already with his negativity.

I know it is early but... I can see them going with a first line of Garland/Leger/Askew Second line of Klima/Klima/Weiderer (Murphy might be a better fit than a Klima) Third line of Smith/Cormier/Johnson Fourth line of Corson/ Bower/ MacEwen
Extras Murphy/(Ramin or Meisenheimer)/Crossman/Leishman
Do they take 19 year olds MacEwan and Leishman? Do they trade Johnson? if so Bower slides in there. I actually like MacEwan on first line rather than Askew. Haven't seen Vachon play and don't think Cyr is physically ready.

I don't see them playing 19 and 20 year olds on the 3rd line. The Smith-Johnson line would be better than Klima-Klima-Weiderer anyways... I'm sure Murphy Crossman and Cyr will be in the lineup, they'll move older players if needed. They already traded Jacob, Bowers Tibbo or Leger could be next. I'd rather see a high upside 16 year old play than a 19 year old who won't be around at 20 or an 18 year old who's upside is 3rd line.
