I did notice that the 103.5 The Eagle sign saying they were the radio partner of the Eagles was taken down during camp. I did hear that the Eagle and their affiliated stations were not going to continue as radio partners.

You would think that there would be some sort of press release regarding a new radio deal.

The Eagle is done doing the games... apparently it was the radio station's choice.
Efforts are being made to have the games broadcast on 1270 this year. Whether or not it works out in time for the season's start, I guess we'll see.

Maybe it'll be contracted out to Alberta.

Nobody really needs radio anymore ... an online feed is all you really need. I have one radio in my house ... beside my bed ... wakes me up in the morning. But I have 3 or 4 devices in my house that can stream online feeds.

Good that you have 3 or 4 devices for streaming the Games ( which you will PAY for ) but remember to try to look at the bigger picture .

But you need Someone to broadcast and commentate the online feed. And they usually cost money, which I'm sure some groups of people around here wouldn't be willing to pay.
I wonder why 1035 weren't interested in renewing.

But I have 3 or 4 devices in my house that can stream online feeds. I would agree to a point. That point however is knowing your own fan base and demographic. Our fan base is an older crowd so a radio feed to reach them is very important within the community in my opinion. A team like Halifax or Moncton in a bigger market with a younger demographic buying into the team can probably get by on audio only webcasts via a website, but are those teams doing radio broadcasts? Removing it from us would be cutting off a big percentage of people interested in following the team and putting it on a medium that these people are likely not going to change to if they have not already. Personally i'm a tech guy and i'm going to stream the audio (or video) because that's how I consume my media. But we have an older generation around here still listening to AM radio and renting movies....change doesn't come easy to all....and those people are the ones keeping the team here with their season ticket purchases.

I'm sure that's the plan but at this point until everything is signed and official....who knows...
