I thought I would start a thread here for Mooseheads fans to post about our prospects and how they are doing this upcoming year.
I suspect a kid like Charlesbois will probably be recalled at Xmas if Donaghey gets traded but Lepage could also be a 16 year old D who gets the callup in that situation.
Ben Higgins will play with the Truro Bearcats so that is a good spot for him to play at a higher level than last year and also for arguably the best coach in the Maritime Junior A league in Shawn Evans.
Hopefully we can get some updates on how well Raphael Blais plays this year- buddy of mine who knows prospects said the Mooseheads getting him where we got him was a steal- said he was 2nd round caliber.
Discuss.

Discuss. Not sure where Hunter is gone but thought possible call up at Xmas if D trades. Injury last year probably requires lots of playing time. Martin seemed to outplay Blais while here. Perhaps another Xmas trade opportunity allows call up. The CEGEP age made it seem Martin would stay. Russell made comments, "those are the 20s for now" and "not many teams trading, as they are waiting to see what they got", leads me to believe he may have looked to move Brassard.

I really hope Cam does the right thing and sells, so a guy like Charlebois can play.

We are already carrying too many D. Even if we trade one, I think it's best Charlebois and Lepage finish their years in midget. I don't like seeing Flower in the pressbox this much... I think he's another high second round pick who like Crossley, was probably guaranteed a spot on the team even though another year in midget probably would have helped him more.

The thing is that all it takes is one injury and a suspension for a couple games and the Mooseheads are suddenly down to carrying 6 D. I don't think Lepage has even played yet- either that or his prospects page hasn't been updated. I believe we'll see Donaghey traded at Xmas- he looks pretty good for a guy who is just getting back from a long layoff due to injury. He can be a good #3 D on a contender and if there are quite a few teams in it then that will drive up the price. If he is traded it will more likely to get Flower and Argento in then it will to recall Charlebois- he can stay down and dominate which it appears he is on the way to doing.

Lepage probably hasn't played yet. He was still on crutches during training camp.
But yea, I agree all it takes is an injury, so I suppose carrying the extra D isn't that bad, especially if they do plan on making moves at X-mas

I was in Truro for the weekend and got to see a game between Woodstock and Truro last night.
Ben Higgins scored his first goal in Junior A last night and played really well earning himself a game star. I didn't see him in exhibition action two months ago. He has quite a bit of speed and a quick shot, both wrister and slapshot. He looks like he could play a 3rd line role for the Mooseheads in the future.

Could be a 3rd/4th liner with skill. The coach in Truro, former Nova Scotia Oiler defenceman Shawn Evans, will teach him the defensive side of the game. Size may be an issue in the QMJHL though.

He can still grow and it's not like he is that small. He is very fast and from what I saw last night he has hockey sense and he has the defensive side of the game down.

Maybe not quite as small as I thought, but still needs to add strength to play in the QMJHL.

Was in Truro for the weekend and saw the Truro-Miramichi game last night- Ben Higgins had a PP goal and an assist and now has 5 goals, 6 assists in 20 games this year. I was told last night that Cam talked to the family about Ben coming to Halifax in the new year but Ben declined for now as he is getting lots of ice time and playing for his hometown team.
The only way I can see Cam checking on Higgins' availability is because Cam is seriously looking at selling.

Aren't they currently sitting out guys every game. This next month should be interesting. I would really love to get MacIsaac in the next draft.
