Bathurst vs Halifax will be interesting, to see if one team finds the right formula to win against the other.
They may do about the same against other teams within the division and Halifax is likely in a better position to be a seller than Bathurst.

I still don't think Quebec will be as bad as we hope they will. They just moved into a new 18,000 seat arena and I'm guessing they will want to be a little more competitive than they are right now. If they are serious about this "tanking", then all bets are off, but the league would sour on the Remparts tanking in the league's largest market.
Just my view, though I hope I'm wrong and they go all out with their rebuild and finish in the bottom so many in the league standings. Not sure how likely though.

Nothing wrong with tanking or having a down season or two if it has a purpose and the start of the moose youth moment is a good purpose and they should continue that. No purpose of hanging on to valuable vets at Christmas just to pickup a few more wins. Half the d and half of the forwards are 16-17, they had a few good prospects sent down and should have a great mix of picks next draft... Target a few key youth at Christmas, they have quantity so target quality, and call it a successful year
What I hate is being willing to hang around a mediocre 10-14 place and not really having a direction... Think of Bathurst and PEI for the better part of the last ten years. PEI was never quite willing to sell and Bathurst was constantly just shuffling the roster but never really selling or buying. A lot of pointless years. Both teams finally seem to have a direction this year.
It's all a cycle and these year can be just as fun and interesting seeing the young guys develop and what trades can be made.

Yea, even though part of me really wants a lottery pick, I still want the team to win every game I watch. This weekend was really exciting, that SJ game was in reach until late in the 3rd, and the Charlettown game we lost in a shootout. I still want to go see them pick up 4 points this weekend because It's fun to watch your team win. Looks like it should be a good crowd on Saturday. Friday as well I'm sure

Just my view, though I hope I'm wrong and they go all out with their rebuild and finish in the bottom so many in the league standings. Not sure how likely though. The thing your not getting about the Remparts is they're in a spot where they almost have to start the rebuild after basically emptying the cupboards for the Mem cup run. They aren't looking to "tank" because it really doesn't help them at all. We have their top pick so we are the ones who benefit from a "tank". In saying that because they have emptied the cupboards they need some extra assets to get back to a top notch team. By this I mean I see them Trading both Murphy and Brouillard as soon as they get the right price for them. Yes the league would want them to have a good team for the gate but as it stands right now they don't have one and aren't in a position to get them one. So they aren't looking to tank they need to reacquire assets to rebuild. Which will look like a tanking but it's not because it doesn't help them besides maybe the Euro draft.

I agree they need to go into a rebuild after their Memorial Cup run; just not sure how committed they would be to it. I may be wrong, I hope I'm wrong. We'll wait and see.

I agree they need to go into a rebuild after their Memorial Cup run; just not sure how committed they would be to it. I may be wrong, I hope I'm wrong. We'll wait and see. 2 questions: 1- Have you looked at their roster? 2- What assets do they have to acquire players if they choose to? Answer to 1 is this is a lottery team if they weren't in a division with 3 other lottery teams. 2, necessarily from 1 because without acquiring talent they aren't finishing above the 10-14 range: None. No 1st in 2016, 2018 for sure, correct me if I'm wrong but they probably traded their 2017 as well. The Remparts compliance in wanting to finishing low isn't exactly a concern, they're finishing in the basement whether they like it or not.

I stand corrected.
The one asset they have who would bring back anything of significance would be Callum Booth. Timoshov would have value, but as we learned with Ehlers last year, moving a Euro can be tricky, especially if they have a no trade/movement clause. Move a couple of useful players for a mid-round picks. Maybe some of their other pieces grow in value as the season goes along, but still won't bring back much of anything.

I think Drummondville has Quebec's first round pick in 2017.

On Leafs lunch yesterday they said he would be attending the leafs main camp before returning to the Q. Take that for what it's worth though I don't know.
They were raving about Timoshevs skill set though and how surprised they were that he was a 5th rounder.

Halifax Mooseheads @hfxmooseheads 2h2 hours ago Cody Donaghey has been sent back to the Mooseheads after taking part in training camp with the Maple Leafs. With the Leafs camp being here this weekend, at least Donaghey won't have far to go to report to the Mooseheads.

Watching the Sharks-Canucks Kraft Hockeyville game. Timo is playing tonight and so far he is looking really good, 2 dangerous shots and making stuff happen. For the first time I am worried that he may actually make San Jose this year- if he does, great for him and bad for the Mooseheads but the silver lining will be a really high pick.
