I'm a rookie at these game threads but I'll try. Bathurst rolls into town tomorrow night for the Moose home opener. We get to eat donairs in our new cushy seats and watch the continuation of the rebuild, against a team that the Moose have to try very hard not to emulate. The Titan are finally on the right track, but unfortunately are a good example of what happens when you attempt to stay out of the basement for far too long. The Moose have the luxury of still making money during a rebuild, which of course was the reasoning for Bathurst buying to stay afloat. Hoping for the first win of the year tomorrow night (exhibition or regular season... ). 4-2 Moose. 7368 in attendance.

As good a coach as Ducharme is and as much as he is going to do his damnest to make sure the Mooseheads win as many games as possible, the 2015-2016 Mooseheads are destined for a bottom third finish. Whatever wins the Mooseheads get this year, I hope they win at home just to provide some excitement and see the kids develop.

Whatever wins the Mooseheads get this year, I hope they win at home just to provide some excitement and see the kids develop. I agree we're destined for a bottom 3rd finish. Dom is a great coach, and his philosophy is a great one to have for coaching 16-20 year old kids. Every game is just an opportunity to get a little bit better, the season is just a 62 game practice session before the playoffs. I also feel as if it takes his teams until probably halfway through the season to really get his systems and breakouts down. He's a big advocate of carrying the puck into the zone and when guys aren't used to each other and the system, it creates a lot of turnovers. That being said, it only gets better the longer guys have been playing together, which is why it's nice to have a group of young players to grow together as a team. Anyway, back on topic to the game, I think this is a pretty winnable one, lets hope they kick off the renovated arena with a win. I'm excited to see Bathurst's rookies and to see how Maher has progressed.

Actually Morand had a better start than Maher and is one year younger. With Simpson's return, Maher should play right wing on that line with Boivin on the left wing.

Lose every game 3-2, 4-3. Hopefully get the top 2 picks in the draft.

Yeah, that game didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy. Even with Meier, scoring won't be easy. Not a big fan of the new seats. I am 6"1' and my knees were jammed against the seat in front of me. There is less space between each seat, so you are rubbing legs with the person sitting next to you. Also the cup holder is on the arm of the seats. There is no way you could get one on the back of the seat in front of you. Prices were up too. I paid $15.00 for two regular sized hot dogs and a large pop. It may be a long year.

Yea the new seats are absolutely fucking horrible if you're over 6'0, which I am I am 6'3. Prices were up and the quality of the food seems down. All the Signage is that ugly red with white text, very bland and depressing looking. The bird-bath water fountain hand washing stations are ridiculous and look more like an art project than a something designed to be functional.
The game itself, the first period was pretty good, we carried the play other than the careless turnover that left to Blanchard's shortie. As an aside Blanchard had a fantastic game and looked good all night on the PK.
The lack of discipline in the second period buried us, and from then on the game was awful.

Yup - sadly the seats are brutal! Any larger person will not comfortably be able to watch a game. The bathrooms were good I thought - no lineups - of course the crowd wasn't that big either. All of the new food vendors were overpriced. All in all I'd say they effed up the renovations big time!

I'm not normally one to post. But also being a 6'0 person. Those seats are beyond brutal. It's going to be a long season sitting in those each game. The washrooms were interesting to say the least. I think its a matter of time before someone slips and falls on water in there tho. Sink right in the middle of the room, thats fine. But then the paper towel over by the walls. Just seems like a formula for lots of wet floors and trouble. Personally didn't try any of the new food. I am excited for more options, but at what cost.
As for the actual game, started off well enough. But after the 3-0 goal any hope of a comeback was pretty much gone. I'm hoping for a better game against SJ! I would really like to see them get their first win! Going to go out on a limb and also make a fun prediction of Watt scoring the first home goal for the good guys!

I'm 6'-6'1" on good days and didn't mind the seats too much. Our cup holders were on the back of the seats (sect 7). Like to thank the Scotiabank Centre for curing my raging alcoholism with the $8.25 beers. Cups seemed a little bigger, but.... c'mon! No drinking kept me out of the bathrooms so I can't comment there.
Its going to be a long year. As good as Timo is, we're going to be starving for goals. Knowing we're the 2nd youngest team in the league softens the blow. As long as the boys are putting a good effort in, I'll suffer through the season and enjoy watching some solid competition roll through.
Every time I see Crossley play, I think whomever drafted him as high as they did should be slapped. Me thinks there was some serious politics there. Oh well. I seem to have at least one whipping boy per year.

I wasn't able to make the game last night. But from the sounds of it, me and my 6'5" frame won't be a big fan of the new seats. I was crammed in anyway with the old seats.
The Moose are the second youngest team in the league behind only Chicoutimi who are dressing six 16 year olds. Meier, Watt and Shewfelt are the only 19yo forwards we have. We're definitely going to have trouble scoring. Hopefully we'll get more consistent as the season goes along.

I'm 6'0 / 185lbs and have an isle seat. The seats look great, but are not comfortable at all. Very hard, NO leg room and the seat is not deep enough for me. 2 periods and had to leave, because the seats were putting pressure on my back and the game sucked! 33 more nights of this....not sure I'm up for it.
