the blame can't all go toward the goalies! sweeney and guay were both -3. a 20 yo and a 19 yo should be doing a better job defending. Guay should not be on the team as a 19 year old. The WC goalies are 17th and 18th in the Q in save%, can't blame much of that on the defense.

If the goaltender can't stop the puck ... everybody on the ice is going to have bad +/-. He has to be expected to make some saves ... and the good ones will stop 90% of shots. All the bad ones on Fortin are above his shoulders. he doesn't battle through screens and I have seen so many goals go in where he just didn't see it. He has to adjust to the screens but he just parks there and doesn't move. Compared to Dubeau and how he battled through screens, Fortin is asleep in the net. Dupre is a backup and thats where he works best ... no blame on him. He needs an experienced guy to learn from, and Fortin has no real experience. Fortin has the 19th best GAA and the 17th best Sv%. That is fine for a rebuilding team ... fine for a 17 YO rookie ... but not fine for a 20 YO on a 1st place team. Its terrible ... and has to change. Maybe they can grab Vautour on waivers...he stopped 41 of 43 today vs the Commandos. Would cost nothing and be worth a look.

Didn't seem to be able to get pucks past two of the worst goalies. Typical.

The Windsor Spitfires are carrying two overage goaltenders , I wouldn't mind adding the odd man out as a free agent. It looks to be Michael Giugovaz

Yeah ... and if you look closer, Windsor is leading their division so they are pretty good team ... and his numbers are mediocre, like Fortin. It looks like Windsor actually brought in a 20 yo goalie from the WHL and he has had two starts over the last week and has only given up one goal.
I'm wiling to bet Michael Giugovaz will become available, but does he solve our problem ? I'd do what Windosr did ... bring him in ... give him a few starts ... if he impresses then you keep him and move out Fortin. If he doesn't impress ... you keep the guy you have.

It doesn't cost anything to try.

It's not uncommon for an average OHL/WHL goaltender to come to the Q and be a very solid addition. What if he turns unto a Shane Owen ? And it would come at no cost at all. IMO , Fortin isn't getting the job done so why not try a free option before moving assets to adress the need. Maybe Guigovaz isn't any better but maybe he'll be a great addition... but at no cost to us , why not?

The situation in Moncton right now and for awhile has been improvisation and hope in finding anew goaltender to support an offensive team... The time to trade for and spend assets was last summer. GMs across the Q knew that Fortin was not a solution as a starter. Next Christmas the goalie scarcity will inflate prices drastically for the likes of Guindon/Bilia/Montembault.... You can keep on believing Moncton will load instead of unloading, but I would not be surprised to ser them trade Sweeney /GarlandĀ because after this season they will need a total rebuild.

I won't pretend that the Cats are the model organisation since 2010, but I find it funny that you put out your optimistic "Titan have turned the corner" posts every 6 months and they have been wallowing in mediocrity for 7-8 years and I don't even remember the last time they won a playoff series. I think at some point the Cats need to do a rebuild, but I think they'll add this year, minor moves like last year.

Billy, no use getting worked up because the WCs have a goaltender problem. Also no use getting the Titan involved in this situation as they had nothing to do with it.
