Spending a 4th on Forting and trading away Johnston as a result also is the painful part here. Hopefully the new guy can replace GJ. In nets, I assume Mann-Dixon is just a temporary fix. I'm sure they must be scouring the FA market or looking to make a trade there... It has to be a 19 yo or younger goaltender. Unless Johnson is injured long term. Or ... a deal is in place to move Sweeney pre-trade period. I was thinking they may bring an 18 or 19 year old FA, unless they have a lot of faith in BMD, but he's had a rough start in Jr.A...

Sounds like another Talbot-Tassi type d-man. "He’s a good skater, a good puck-mover and a smart player" 5'11" Maybe ... but I doubt that a guy like Talbot-Tassi would clear OHL waivers. Or, do 20 YOs not have to clear waivers ?

Why would they make all these moves before Christmas. What about the rest of the players, wont this affect them seeing their teamates leave in mid season.

Or, do 20 YOs not have to clear waivers ? First of all, I have no idea what the OHL's waiver rules are but I'd imagine he did clear OHL waivers. Second, I said "Talbot-Tassi type d-man", that was just about style, I never meant to hint in that he would be of the same calibre.

The Christmas trading period is mid-season and it is junior hockey- they see way more players leave after getting cut in training camp then they do during the season... unless your team is Bathurst.

Its the business of hockey ... it happens at all levels from Jr and up. Won't it affect the players seeing their teammates traded when the trading period opens up ? I don't think this will be our last move before the trading period closes in January.

Second, I said "Talbot-Tassi type d-man", that was just about style, I never meant to hint in that he would be of the same calibre. I don't think 20 YOs go on waivers ... I think they are just released from their contract ... but I know you aren't arguing that point. But when you say "a Talbot-Tassi type d-man" ... should I interpret that you mean someone of inferior calibre to Talbot-Tassi next time ? What else should I infer from you calling him "a Talbot-Tassi type d-man" other than you expect him to play like Talbot-Tassi. If you said "Garland type forward" ... should I infer that you mean "Lane Cormier skills" ? But reading Arnold's link to an article ... Stan Butler indicated that he was going to find a place for him to play in the league (OHL) ... but apparently he could not. I suppose playing in the OHL would have to come with a trade, which probably got in his way of staying in the OHL.

This is a tweet from Ottawa's colour man regarding Kosack...
Kenny Walls @tsnkenny he moves the puck well, skates pretty well, just the odd OA out in NB. A little surprised he made it thru OHL waivers.
