So your in 1st Place because we sucked...............and that's a Bad Thing ? Otay ! It made Shannon want to add instead of selling ... we aren't a contender but spent good assets anyway to get "better" ... actually seem to have become worse. "...made Shannon want..." I have to admit, that is a great bait and troll thread you got going...looks like you hooked them all.

This is deeper than Shannon making bad trades, players have been asking out ... something is brewing in the locker room and it needs to be addressed. One theme I have heard from some around the team for a few years is players are promised certain things to report then things change once they arrive. I think this is an issue in bringing in more US players...some of the ones that came were not given what they were promised. This is not something new though... This is common to all Q teams, but perhaps there is a bonding of brothers against it in MCT.

Well a couple of things for this season. The Cats will not contend and probably will not go deep in post season, at least this is my view. I do not have enough knowledge to dissect the trades/player dissatisfaction/scouting and GM situation. One thing I will say, it has been 6 yrs. since we won Presidents Cup and with the CATS Organization aka Irving resources, fan base could become restless over next couple of years if nothing happens and that base will diminish. The window is narrow in this league for contending teams to take top spot (President/Memorial Cup) but can be done note Saint John and Halifax in our neck of the woods.

It has been the same problem for the past few season, players are not coming together as a team and don't necessarily want to play with each other. Again this season, we didn't bring in true leaders and now we are going to struggle to play has a team through the playoffs.

Every team has players and parents that think they should get better ice time and line mates. It doesn't matter what level it is. The comments you hear is that Moncton is a great team to play for so I think the above comments aren't very factual. Sounds like parents to me.

The Cats have gotten a lot of "NCAA" players to report the last few years...Malatesta Garland Smith Crossman etc(I'm probably forgetting another 10) so I'm sure they had to make certain promises to each of those...

Hasn't chemistry been a good thing here since Rumble arrived? The team seemed to be pretty tight last season especially after Lalonde and Tkachev were shipped out. At least that's what was implied.

I don't think things are completely off the rails by any means. I see them winning 3 of the next 5. They would still be heavy favorites in round 1, but round 2 will depend on matchups, 3 and 4 would be pretty big upsets. Their schedule the next 3 weeks is really soft. SJH will need to win their head to head games and ones in hand to pass.

I noticed a couple f things recently...
-two recent Hodge articles have said "in the 21 year history of the franchise". I found that hilarious considering how hard the WC try and pretend the Alpines never existed and that it's the same franchise!
-two days after the scathing article wondering why the Cats goaltending is so bad, Hodge writes another Klima article with a lot of positive stuff...wonder if his bosses got on his a$$ about the article earlier in the week? lol

I think our team will come together once everyone is back and we get some more consistent lines, and players become more familiar with each other, the real problem still is and is going to be our goaltending. we certainly overpaid for Bouchard, and I don't see what we were looking at when they decided to go after him, I am sure BC is still laughing over that transaction. and without a miracle we are not going deep into the playoffs.

They have a pretty soft schedule in the next 4 weeks... vs Hal vs Bat vs SNB vs Vic at Rim at Bat vs BBA vs She vs Cha Those are 9 games and 7 are against teams in the bottom half. Rimouski sold off two or three of their best players. Starting Feb 25th, it gets tougher... at RN at VD at Gat then vs Dru at Cha vs SNB at Hal at SNB vs Hal vs Bat Other than that 3 game trip, the only contender they face from now on is St.John...3 times. The downside of that is that it doesn't really get you ready for the playoffs. After round 1, most of those teams will be gone.

Dropped out of the CHL Rankings, no surprise there though.

I think the Klima article will be in the paper tomorrow. It's pretty much been a solid four days of negative articles. Quite impressive really.

I think Karabacek much like Murphy, will only produce as much as how well the Klimas are going. That's what I said when they made the deal. Karabacek is more skilled but Murphy is more involved in the dirty areas.
