7 goals in 6 games for Joly and he's not even shooting at an unsustainable percent, pretty standard for his career.
So fun to watch him play.
Lazarev with another 3 point night as well.

He has always been a pure goal scorer, seems to play well on the big stage. Scored the game winner in the Pres Cup final last year. What a player to watch.

Nice road win, awesome power play, Joly is on fire. Hope Svechnekov is not hurt. Only disappointment tonight was the play of Leveille, looks like the Leveille of the first half has arrived again. Not to sound cruel about a 19 year old kid, but, man oh man, sometimes he has the hockey IQ of a jellybean. See you on Saturday.

Boy boards quite tonight.. Good effort by the Eagles start to finish. Joly with a hat trick, what can you say about this guy? Pure goal scorer and already worth the price we paid. Whatever else he has to give for this team is a bonus. Belanger was strong and has been the past few games. This team seems to be rolling right now and firing on all cylinders. Good start to the series!
On another note, heard a rumor Eastlink will be carrying the Charlottetown series and no word on CB. I hope they cover a couple of Eagles games or I'll be very disappointed.

Cape Breton was the better team and deserved the win. Period.
From a Sea Dogs perspective - a) very disappointing crowd - and the Eagles took whatever crowd was there out of the equation, b) it's not fair to use injuries and illness as an excuse - but it was a factor against the Sea Dogs (notably Joseph, Highmore and Chabot), c) Svechnikov probably shouldn't poke the bear by cross checking Imama and then calling him a p***y, and d) As a Sea Dogs fan, I appreciated Dumont's move to sit the top PP unit in the closing minutes with the game in complete control.
Speaking of Dumont - I thought he argued a few questionable calls (or non-calls) and did ask for a video review after Svechnikov's close call short handed.
The Sea Dogs will need to bring their 'A' game in order to have any chance of beating the Screaming Eagles.

Great win tonight by the boys! Wouldn't it be nice to take a 2-0 lead back to the nest! Joly continues to impress. As already said worth the price we paid for him already. I thought Belanger has been playing well. Our PP was deadly tonight. Hope the boys can do it again Saturday!
Also when we get Bishop back if he can stay healthy he was a force last year in the Quebec series could add an extra punch for our offence!

The Sea Dogs will need to bring their 'A' game in order to have any chance of beating the Screaming Eagles. It's definitely a valid excuse (injuries), without your heart and soul guy (Joseph) and Marsh who is a deadly powerplay/ES weapon you've gotta plug guys in the line up who are too high up the depth chart. It was happening the entire first half for the Eagles with guys like Sorrentino, Fournier, Martineau to a degree and lead to an abysmal first pre-christmas record. Only thing you can do is hope everyone else rises to the occasion, because right now the eagles top 6 is absolutely buzzing and they are still without Bishop who adds another dimension to the 3rd line if he comes back at any point. Turcotte is always solid against the Eagles so thats one thing you guys have going. It's just gonna be hard to both be shutting down so many weapons on the Eagles and counter attack simultaneously if that makes sense.

Watched a majority of the game...if SJ can't find another level due to the injuries and our top 6 being absolutely lethal at the moment then this could turn into a lopsided series.
Like I most I went into this expecting a long series. But after that game, I think the Eagles have a legitimate shot at striking while the opposition is a bit wounded and really put them on the ropes coming back to a loud C200 for games 3 and 4.
I know the fans in SJ have been kind of spoiled with some great playoff runs but 2800 for a 2nd round playoff game for them is surprising to me.

I watched the game ... while the shots don't show it CB dominated. SJ's good scoring chances were very limited.
Very early in the game Chabot got kneed with no call ... and limped through the rest of the game. I think it was Dubois that kneed him and Flynn will send in the video.
