who the hell picks your 3 Stars? Easy big fella. Martineau had 6 hits and was 7/17 on face-offs. Matthew Highmore's 2 goals and an assist don't stack up against those stats. Hits matter.

I'm not sure if svechnikov is playing through an injury or illness or what, but he was just plain terrible out there, as was gosslin. Absolutely brutal effort all around. Levielle missed getting called for an absolute tomahawk at centre ice, Dubois was lucky he only got a minor on his hit from behind. The reffing was an absolute joke, but the eagles absolutely have to be more disciplined all over the ice. I'm not sure what else to say.

Hats off to Saint John. They came in to C200 and played a near perfect road game. Everyone knows that the Eagles bread and butter is puck possession down low in the offensive zone and coming through the neutral zone with a lot of speed and skill. SJ took that away completely for 2 periods with a 1-2-2 trap which in turn took the fans and the players out of sync. Eagles players looked like they didn't know how to react when they saw the set up. Player after player came up the ice trying to beat 3-4 guys who were waiting for them.
Coach Flynn also did a heck of a job working his bench and getting all of his players involved. Dumont stood on the bench for 2 periods with his arms crossed looking perplexed at the situation and wondering why his guys were getting frustrated. The most positive thing on the bench was the players trying to pick each other up and John Kibuyk going up and down the bench slapping guys on the back.
In my humble opinion, this was a game where the Eagles were out coached. Plain and simple, and i'm not one to point fingers at coaching often.

First Things First ......Saint John deserved the win .
- Belanger had a bad night .
- Leveille is a very selfish player with the penalties he takes...dumb !
- Joly didn't look right out there .
- Refereeing just keeps getting worse .
- Dumont speaks about passion and heart on his Radio Spots and shows neither himself . He leaves the Bench before the Game is even over .....walks down says something to Izzarde and then rips er down the Runway . Nice Message to send to your players .
- Gotta hope ...if he can go at all ...that Bishop is in The Lineup tomorrow night .

Don't have to look any further than Game 1 - Dogs lose 4-1: 1sr star - Joly; 2nd star - Dubois; 3rd star SDM. It's choices like tonight's that make it seem ridiculous. Shame on those who pick the stars, I'd be embarrassed to come out for that if I were Martineau.

Id say it's quite likely Dubois is out for tomorrow's game given the Noel suspension. Why? I didn't catch the whole game. What did he do?

They tried, but they still weren't very good, and at the end of the day nobody cares about a Juno Award.

Wow, what a solid effort that was. IMHO, the game was over five minutes in, Dumont was badly outcoached(again).Give full credit to the Seadogs for coming in with a game plan and executing it. it was quite evident from the get go how this game was going, our guys had no jump, the Sea Dogs were sharp and crisp and the mannequin behind our bench had no response. Sound familiar (Gatineau 2 years ago) when Dumont was embarrassed by Benoit Groulx.Someone should tell Dumont its called game preparation, something foreign to him.Our guys were completely unprepared for this game, 2 games in a row they have come out flat, totally undisciplined penalties and poor defensive zone play. I guess that's what you get when you're matched up against a coach who has coached junior hockey, university hockey and NHL hockey and an assistant coach who has several Stanley Cup rings to his credit, up against ,let me see, a guy who has one seasom above 500 in his whole career. The mismatch showed tonight. That's my little rant for this evening.

If the Eagles lose this series, will they put the flag at half mast at City Hall?

And I don't like Nickelback, for the record. Enjoy East Coast Music Week. Hope somebody cares up there.
