I think he does just cause they had 6 home playoff games and I hate that thought.

I think he does due to the fact Andre Cote is just as retarded.. He refused to budge on Bowers, and I just heard on Eastlink the pick he traded for Leblanc was the Veleno pick? Fuck off Dumont..

I said this in the game 7 thread but feel like it belongs in this one. On Eastlink in the post game commentary they made some great points. Cape Breton needed a top Defenceman and a goaltender to take over or at least push Belanger. They mentioned Guindon from Rimouski and Brassard from Halifax (who I would have loved in CB!), move a few picks or some prospects. Also move Bowers for a top D man, why hold on to him and pick up a compensation pick and 2nd round exit when we could grab something to help us this year?!

Fuck off Dumont.. it did end up being the Velano pick. People seem to think however he wouldn't have applied for EPS if CB had the first pick. Normally I'm the first one to judge guys like bowers and oleary and Roy for not reporting, but stepping back and looking at this season, I get it.

I just don't really agree with using a 20 spot on a goalie. But I agree on bowers. He's never going to show up so why not get rid of him. To me it shows even Dumont doesn't believe in himself as a coach, thinking he couldn't create a gameplan against a great player.

There was no way of knowing that would be the Veleno pick at the time the trade was made. While Drummondville sold, so did a lot of other teams. It was a possibility but nobody knew for sure they'd drop out of the playoffs. Then SJ wins the coin flip against Bathurst. Then Veleno applied for the status and it looked like it wasn't going to happen. Dogs fans were not too happy about that trade last season because after a great first half, they had a terrible 2nd half without Leblanc, while Cape Breton went in the other direction. Hindsight of course is always 20/20.

Veleno would have played anywhere in the Q as a 15 year old . He wasn't gonna apply for Exceptional Status and have a bunch of conditions attached to it .

Should he be let go? Absolutely.
Will he be? Probably not.
Right now is the time for change though. The time for another rebuild is approaching and we have assets to not be nearly as behind as we were after 2010.
Do it right now and it doesnt have to be another 6 years before a series win.

Leblanc was certainly worth it, but having Veleno would've been nice, The idea behind having those 1st rounders was to use them to win last year and this year. We ended up trading the best pick..to be fair while having no idea where it would be....and picked Bowers and Hoyt. Leblanc was a great addition but the true error was the Bowers situation and having nothing to show for that asset in games like tonights and Sundays.
