They hired him ... watched him Coach for how many seasons now ... 3 ? The only one to blame for falling short is the ownership group. Then you are assuming that a better Coach gets you past SJ ... but I think the better team won. A better coach and I doubt they are playing The Sea Dogs. Our last 2 years which were our go for it years we finished 13th and 7th this year. No way we should have had to face a team like Quebec first round last year. I think they would have had 4 more wins this season with a better coach which wins us the division and gets us a more favourable match up. In the end you are right that ownership made the blunder but it's time they correct the problem. The first half last year was absolutely horrible. We were so stoked that we managed to keep Darcy! He came back from Tampa's camp and had like 1 goal in 19 games or something and it was an empty netter... XD

I forgot about Ranger! Once again Dumont picked up a player with no interest in reporting with the compensation picks coming into play. We have 3 possible firsts in this years draft.. Great!! But those assets, Bowers, O'leary, Ranger, could have been used for this years big run he planned to go on. No wonder fans are upset.
This leads me to believe that this cycle of the rebuild won't be as long as the last one and that ownership would praise Dumont for not selling the entire future like others before him. I have every right to believe he'll be back whether we all like it or not.

I have every right to believe he'll be back whether we all like it or not. To be fair though Ranger turned pro, didn't really turn us down. The possibility of that is the reason we could get a top 10 pick from Chicoutimi so that's a more then fair return. But other then that I agree with you. The guys like O'Leary and Bowers i'll never give him the benefit of the doubt on now because we kept delaying those assets that started as 1st rounders. Now we might have 3 1st rounders in June but couldn't afford D depth in a big year. That stings when we had so much top end talent and lost against a team with some great players but were in a position where we should have been able to rise above them and couldn't or wouldn't match their effort. There's been zero officially reported on the 2017 pick for Joly so we will see if that trade has any more wrinkles attached or if the plan is to finally leave a draft full of kids who we have been told want to play here instead of again going down the road of using high picks to go after kids the scouts deem the best picks but ownership or management won't need their demands. A quick turn around is possible with the picks we can potentially have. The Bowers situation has to come to an end here soon I would think. But it would be too bad to see those young kids be brought through another questionable system. We had too many guys go the wrong way this season under Dumont. Yet he still will end up with an NHL 1st round pick each of the past 2 years thanks to great scouting and drafting of kids who wanted to come here. Go figure.

Not to mention multiple players picked in.. 14? Darcy, Pelletier, Bishop. Not top picks but it makes him look good. Not to mention he took all the credit for Darcy getting drafted

I realize the pro route was an option for Ranger! I didn't mean to sound like he snubbed us! I think what I meant to say was that it was a risk to pick him up, so if Dumont knew the pro pathway was open for him why make a move for him? Maybe he looked at it like he's the 20 I want so if I give him an option to return to junior in CB, if he chooses pro and sticks I'll cover my ass with the compensation draft picks. Still it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Why acquire draft picks and not assets in your big year? Unless he felt this team could contend the way they we're built and use the picks to restock the cupboards this off season.

Undrafted or Players without ELC's , you normally just think they will be back in Junior .......not always the case I guess .

That message will get the board listening. The threat of losing one of their top sponsors should not be taken lightly. The money lost from this sponsor could have made the difference between us adding a coach/GM that would run things right (Joseph) or getting another Choules/Dumont. I didn't see/hear a threat of losing a sponsor in that piece and the piece loses alot of value by adding at the end that maybe next year will be your year any fool can see next year has no chance of being your year to go deep The Macdonald Auto group are a major sponsor for the team and he hinted that the franchise "needs a longterm plan". The lack of success since the inception of the team was noted. For the end of the piece, this is Live at 5. Something like that is expected, honestly.

I know 20 year olds could make like $ 500 a week a few years back .....now it's like $ 150 . That plays a part in it .
