We know Joly, Gosselin, and Belanger are gone. Who goes and who stays? I have...
Dubois - Carozza (20) - Fiore (20) Fournier - Martineau - Hoyt Bertrand - Smith - Boucher
Leblanc (20) - Paquette-Bisson Baillargeon - Greene
Jessiman
---------------------------------------
Svechnikov (Grand Rapids) Lazarev (KHL) Joly (20) Bishop (Charlotte) Caron (would be 20) MacSween (would be 20) Leveille (would be 20) Dower (would be 20) MacIntyre (would be 20) Gosselin (20) Belanger (20) MacCallum (would be 20)

I have McIntyre over Leblanc due to the fact you could shop Leblanc for assets.

LeBlanc won't be in the Q next year.

It terrify's me that Jessiman is our starter next year. Unless he's been working 1 on 1 with Marty Brodeur since going home I just can't see him being an effective starter in the Q.

LeBlanc won't be in the Q next year. He'll be in Lake Erie? He's too good for the Q

This team is already looking much, much different. What are the odds this rebuild is going to be as painful as the last one?

He doesn't even have a Entry Level Contract yet ...... so let's not say " AHL for Sure" !

I think the level of pain depends on if Dubois sticks in the NHL next year... if he doesn't you get half a season of watching a top talent and then a massive haul at christmas, or.. you get nothing if he sticks.

Watching closely on the post-mortem talk here.
Lots of sour taste in Charlottetown a couple of nights ago... but we don't seem as furious as the fans here.
The two teams are in a similar spot in terms of disappointment and lineup questions for next year.
1. I'd have to think Olivier Leblanc would have to be offered an ELC here soon. Since being drafted, he's had two strong season in the Q. They drafted 3 guys from the CHL that year Leblanc, Julien Pelletier and defenceman Blake Siebenaler from the OHL. The rest were either Europe or NCAA guys, including Sonny Milano who was drafted from the National Development program but jumped to CHL. I'd not be rushing to sign Pelletier, but I think Leblanc warrants a 3 year look in their system.
2. The Dubois pro or Q question is going to be a huge X factor surrounding your team and will make decision making difficult. We worked with it (never expecting it to be the case) with Sprong this year and it will be a factor next year too. It sucks. You watch and wait for the NHL squad to do the normal thing and send the guy down. Dubois likely lands somewhere where he could stand a good chance of playing in the NHL right away.

Yeah, Leblanc is a 7th round pick with no ELC right now. It's as likely as not that he'll get a deal. Either way, MacIntyre was pretty clutch in the playoffs and often our best D-man. I'd love to see Duncan back if Olivier departs.

And maybe next year is the year for David Caza to finally crack the Q, Drake Batherson should be here, maybe after a year of junior a under his belt Alex Bonaparte might have a spot as a fourth line grinder. Plus we still have a draft to go through plus we might get one or two guys that really stand out training camp.
