I think with our 1st we should eye a Centremen. Edouard St-Laurent 6'0 157lbs had 19 pts in 42 games and had 5 pts in 3 games in the playoffs. if he plans on going in the first round he better be a pretty good defensive player only 19 points If my memory serves me, St Laurent was once predicted as a top pick in this draft. I believe his development fell off quite a bit.

I believe his development fell off quite a bit. I heard his MAAA team was pretty poor this year so his stats, or lack thereof, may be a bit misleading. I would be hesitant about using a 1st on him though- use a 2nd or 3rd but he probably needs another year in MAAA.

Gabriel fortier and olivier crete-belile Unfortunately I don't think Fortier is there past the top 5, maybe even top 3. Anderson MacDonald may fall to you guys, I feel like he'd probably report and do well in Cape Breton. Big kid, great shot, good skater, forchecks hard and has a bit of sandpaper to his game. I though he was listed in the top 5 ?

Just for the hell of it, I did a mock draft, take it with a grain of salt because I don't have any sort of special knowledge Pick | Team | Player | 2015-16 Team | 1 | Halifax | Jared McIsaac | Cole Harbour Wolfpack (NSMMHL) | 2 | Baie-Comeau | Benoit-Olivier Groulx | Gatineau L'Intrepide (QMAAA) | 3 | Drummondville | Olivier Rodrigue | Jonquiere Elites (QMAAA)

Mathias Laferriere could be a top 10 maybe top 5 player. He had a good regular season but then just came out of no where in the playoffs and telus cup. He had 25pts in 45 games in the reg season and he matched his total of 25 in 17 playoff games. Then was names MVP of the Telus Cup with 15pts in 7 games.

I agree he raised his stock a fair margin, however I'm not sure he shoots up into the top 10. I do firmly believe he won't get past Baie-Commeau when they pick 2 in a row tho, to be able to bring Capanelli and Laferriere into the Q as a line, they wouldn't pass that up. The other thing this chart doesn't take into account is trades. I have heard the Drakkar want to move up to pick in the top 5 again, and if Bathurst likes Dobson, they can afford to trade down a few picks.

Some scouts have Anderson MacDonald ranked in the top 5 but I doubt he goes in the top 5 unless he's taken by Bathurst at #5 he could drop into the 7-9 slot - For ranking purposes I would say #6

I always like to see lists good stuff ... Other then juggling a few names up or down my list we agree on players that could be first round picks with the exception of maybe Adam McCormick who I have pegged in the second round. Laferriere will be climbing pretty much every team's draft board after his playoff and Telus Cup performances

Very very consistent game in game out. I Like Islander Dobson and can actually see him at 5 to Bathurst, family connection there. MacDonald tough to figure. Trigger man but undisciplined and technical skating suspect but goals are goals. Great to have the draft local and should be fun.

I completely agree with Noah Dobson should be a first round pick ... Not taking anything away from McCormick either should be a good Q defender

There's a list of things that CB need to do this draft. I say number one on the list is figure out what your going to do with Bowers. Personally I think you let him go and take the 9th pick. I've read some stuff from people on this board and a lot of you think he worth Halifax's 7th overall pick because he can get the 9th overall pick. That simply not the case. If he played in the league this year maybe but he's not in the league and gave up a year already. His Value has gone down. Now he still might get 2 assets but not as high as the 9th pick.
Now it was said earlier on this subject take the best player that will report. That's what has to happen here. This pick needs to count.
The next thing I would do is definitely trade one 20 for some extra picks. From what I've read here through the playoffs and not watching any games it sounds like Carozza wasn't exactly giving his all. He has value, nothing near what you paid for him but he could get you I'd say a 3rd round pick plus either a 17yo player or a 5th rounder. Something like that.
I said before on the Halifax board about keeping both LeBlanc and Leveille and then trade them in season they will be worth more then. Just look at Quebec with what they did with Murphy and Brouillard. CB's two guys are a step down from the other two but still applies. However I some what changed thinking on that and they should trade Leveille at the draft. He might not get you a boat load then but some team might give a 1st for him. If that happens take it and run. I think more realistic is to expect a starting point of a 2nd rounder and maybe another one or a 3rd rounder. Once again take it and run. Then you keep LeBlanc till teams that are looking to add a Top pairing defencemen for the playoffs comes calling. (Perfect fit might be where he came from) also I would do this very same thing with Giovanni, sort of like what Halifax did with Moynihan.
That's just my thoughts.

Doubt Leblanc is back as an overager. Leveille's value keeps getting worse. I'd move him at the draft for whatever I can to get him away from here out of fear of his 1st half further killing his value. Go with MacIntyre, Fiore, Carozza for the 1st half.
