Clark Bishop was traded from the Carolina Hurricanes to the Ottawa Senators for defenceman Max Lajoie, Bishop will report to Ottawa's AHL affiliate Belleville Senators that's now 5 Eagles Alumni currently in the Senators Organization.

What's up with Pierre Luc Dubois? When drafted by the Eagles he was a stud prospect from Quebec who actually reported to Cape Breton. After numerous years of snubs from other highly talented Quebec players he showed up and as far as I know, was a great teammate, great in the community, worked hard, and had all the skill to round out a fantastic junior career in Cape Breton. As a pro he seems to be going in the opposite direction. I know his relationship with Tortorella has been rocky to say the very least but the latest news coming out of Columbus is alarming. No compete, slacking off during interviews, giving up on the team, etc. I was expecting him to handle the Tort's conflict in a professional manner until it is dealt with via trade, which is inevitable at this point, but he seems to be handling the situation poorly and he's starting to be labeled as a toxic player. I don't necessarily blame Pierre Luc, Tort's has a reputation as well, but from what I've seen from him in Cape Breton I never would've expected this. I'd love to hear others thoughts on this and hope his situation is resolved quickly before it tarnishes his reputation around the NHL. Edit: Pretty interesting to hear his perspective on his situation. Not a lot of in depth answers but seems to be handling the situation as well as he can.

Dubois had enough of him and asked out but there's been no deal. No excuse for the no effort and pathetic shift last night. And Dubois will tell you that himself which is why i think a toxic label might be a little unfair. 2 weeks in a new environment and nobody will remember this stuff with him. He'll be a great Ottawa Senator (all our other prospects are there, right?

I suppose I could have clarified a bit, I just read some NHL boards and comments where that label was thrown out there. I also think its harsh, however I think we all agree this situation has been handled poorly by Columbus and PL Dubois. I personally would love to see him in Ottawa given that they have 3,4, maybe even 5 former Eagles in the organization!
Sorry misread that and went back and read other post. Yes the Sens have 5 former Eagles players..

Darren Dreger has said that the Winnipeg Jets are the Clear Front Runner for PLD .......and he expects it might happen by the end of the Weekend with Laine and Roslovic's names front and center.......Anaheim and Montreal being the next Tier . After watching Torts and PLD talking to the Media .......I really believe that it is simply a Torts-PLD Showdown.....it's not a Money Thing or a Columbus thing .........Torts doesn't like or will not give a Young #1 Center who he sees as an Underachiever a Pass....and PLD is another one in a Long Line of Players that thinks it's just easier to leave then amp it up a notch to shut Torts up ........End Result .......Not Fixable . It might be one of those situations where to a certain degree...They are both at Fault .

Right you are Hal! www.tsn.ca/columbus-blue-jackets-to-send-pierre-luc-dubois-to-winnipeg-jets-for-patrik-laine-jack-roslovic-1.1581754Columbus: Dubois + 3rd Round Draft Pick for Winnipeg: Laine + Roslovic I think Columbus got a steal here, but I think Dubois will do well in Winnipeg.

It might not take long for Laine to find himself in Tortorella's doghouse some night. Max Domi found himself there in the first game of the season.

CBC just showed a Partial Clip of an Interview with PLD and he claimed that his Trade Request had Nothing to do with Torts ? So ? What could it have been ? ......hmm ?

Watching PLD's Interview on Tim and Sid ......He kind of gives you the impression that he simply didn't want to commit to staying in Columbus Long Term ....it just didn't get handled the Right Way ...The Bridge Deal ....Himself ....Torts ....Management .....Having paid pretty close attention to this ...I just feel like there is something more to this ......but we may never know the Whole Story . Two things we know for sure that they both have in common........Both Dubois and Laine were not Happy and Both Signed 2 Year Bridge Deals....Winnipeg GM Kevin Cheveldayoff spoke highly of Laine but has anybody heard anything from the Columbus GM ....Jarkko Kelkalleinin ?
*Total guess on that Spelling .

Columbus GM was just on That's Hockey .....PLD was in fact offered an 8 Year Deal that would have made him the Highest Paid Player in Blue Jackets History . He also stated that it was in fact PLD and his Agent that wanted the 2 Year Bridge . He just wanted out and didn't feel like he owed the Organization or His Teamates an Explanation .
He is not looking Very Good in this and it makes it Simple to Point the Finger at Torts ....OK , here is my guess ...for whatever reason he felt like he had to force the issue of taking control of his career and he wasn't going to wait 4 more years for Free Agency to do it like Boborovsky and Panarin had to . He had his Heart in going somewhere else , either to a More Traditional US Hockey Market ( he obviously didn't think that of Columbus ) or Back Home to Canada .

I'm not sure if his agent is guiding him in the wrong direction or if he is not speaking on a much bigger issue or reason for leaving. Rather than just staying quiet Dubois seems to keep adding fuel to the fire. This is unfortunately getting messy and making Dubois look bad in this situation. He apparently wanted out of a small US market and now he's in hockey's Siberia (joke jets fans), so if he thought requesting a trade was going to solve all of his wants and needs he's got a lot to learn about his hockey career and life in general.

His coach told his assistants not to talk to him. He's just not coming out and publicly burying his coach. Probably because his dad is one and he's trying to take the high road in the non-answer vs the front page drama of a larger story.
