Good start on the rebuild Dorion
Hired DJ Smith who ran the D in Toronto last season, They've hired Davis Payne as an Assistan and Jack Capuano.I'm already liking the new coach getting rid of Ceci, Guess we'll have to see how next season plays out.
Today they made a six player trade with the Leafs
To Tor Cody Ceci(We finally get rid of him) Ben Harpur(Sad to see you go) Michael Carcone (Tor gets his rights) 3rd round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft
To Ott Nik Zatisev Connor Brown(Think he's a good pick up) Aoron Luchuk
The Sens reported to have also signed Ron Hainsey and Tyler Ennis.

I think you better prepare yourself for a rough regular season with all the players gone.

Sens home opener Sat night vs the Rangers wonder if they'll pull a Leafs and finally name a Captain, I'd be okay with Chabot or Ryan. They fell 5-3 in Toronto last night but it was interesting I was talking to one of my friends who is a Leafs fan, and both the Leafs/Senators are in the youth movement with a few experienced Vets and Capable goalies. (It's going to be very soon that you'll see Ottawa and Toronto in the playoffs with all the Oilers fans complaing after all the 1 picks haven't gotten them amywhere)
Couple notes -Duclair I remember from junior because he played for Quebec(last night I was thinking it was him who drilled Drouin from behind but it was Adam Erne) -I remember Chaplik from Charlottetown -Sens have some good young talent and some feel good stories.
Another note I hate the coahce's challenge let the players and officials decide what happens on the ice, and I especially don't like the new rule that if you lose the challenge it's a penalty, but then again I've always hated the Delay of Game penalty too for a puck over the glass like I'd be pissed if someone won the Stanley cup on that.

For captain I wouldn’t mind Pageau but he’s my favourite player or Borowiecki because of how he stood up for the team last year. Seems like a good stand up leader

Trade between Ottawa and New York, New York retains 750,000 To Ottawa Nick Namestnikov To New York 4th round pick in 2021 Nick Ebert On the surface it looks like a strange trade, they did not give up a lot, but Namestnikov has flopped in NY and he is a UFA at year end. The only way it makes sense is if they flip him at the deadline or he turns his career around and they sign him for a few years. Word is he plans on going to the KHL next year though.

too bad they couldn't have gotten his brother Vlad... i hear he is a much better hockey player
in all seriousness... it's a solid trade for Ottawa no matter what..... dunno why you think it only makes sense if they flip him or resign him.... have you seen their lineup? It makes perfect sense at such a low cost to add a potential 20 goal 50 point man

He was likely only a 20G 50 point guy because of Stamkos and Kucherov, he played a lot on their line 2 years ago.
