That 3 year deal for Marleau at 38(when his 1st season started) turned out as bad as anticipated. They had to trade a mid 1st rounder to get rid of him. I think Shanahan regrets the day he let Lamorellio walk and put boy wonder in charge. I agree with you on that ......Dubas and the Salary Cap don't seem like a Good Marriage and an abrupt change of Philosophy is on the horizon I believe . Nylander may be the obvious choice to deal but more Teams will line up for the other three . I wonder what a guy like Nylander would get you. He is a good player, but soft and with a 7M ticket in a flat cap is not ideal. I'm sure there would be 6-8 teams interested but what would you get back? would Minnesota move Brodin(27, 2 years left at 4.2M) for him? I was thinking of the Habs swapping Domi for Brodin but it leaves them quite young at C but deep at LHD with the emergance of Kulak/Chiarot and arrival of Romanov.

Dubas is not doing himself any favors...5 year 27.5M extension coming.
