Does anyone know the CIS commitments for next year? I believe Evan Boucher has commited to Unersity hockey just not sure which one. Boucher's going to uOttawa, joining former Moosehead and Ottawa native David LaFrance. Other notable commitments: Brady Burns - Acadia Dawson Stairs - Dal Ben Allison - SMU Jakob Robillard - UPEI Kieran Gallant - UPEI Thomas Couture - Acadia Wouldn't be surprised to see Josh Lawrence head (home) to UNB if he doesn't get a pro offer for the fall.

Thank you, I feel bad for Stairs Dal of all teams, they almost never make the playoffs or get bounced in the 1st round they just can't compete with SMU/UNB!

As a Dal alumni, they really need to get their new rink built so they can recruit better. Must be so hard to convince guys to come and play in the dump that is the forum.

Rumoured that Nico Savoie will end up at UNB for next season. Josh Lawerence is currently rumoured there also, waiting on pro deals.

First off I wouldn't call the Forum a dump yes it's old and has lots of history(Character) but both SMU/Dal have played their for a few years. Dal's new rink should be ready soon since it's been a few years since SMU moved to their new rink; I thought I read a few years ago Dal's new rink should be ready by next season. I could be mistaken. Wow Lawrence would be a huge add for UNB he's an elite player and UNB always has an elite team.

Wow Lawrence would be a huge add for UNB he's an elite player and UNB always has an elite team. I play there once a week. It's absolutely a dump, and even worse - nowhere near campus. This makes it super hard for the players who have to legitimately commute to the rink for practice - and for drawing the student population to get in the stands and support the team. The work on the rink is now on pause "due to the current state of the construction industry", with no timeline on when it's going to start up again. Excavation and site prep is done with the removal of the east end of Wickwire Field, but not a single shovel has been put into the ground to build the actual structure. There is very little chance it's ready for even the 25/26 season at this point. It was an absolute clown show of strategic decision making back in 2011 when the Board of Governors voted to shut down Memorial Arena. The building certainly had its problems, but if you want to talk about character and architecture - Memorial had it in spades. The quote to renovate the building and bring it to modern standards back in 2011 was around $12 million if I remember correctly - now its looking like the current project with the latest overruns could cost north of $30 million. Brilliant. It's been over 10 years now with no rink on campus and it's not just the varsity programs that have felt the impact - it's the student experience as a whole. I used to build my class schedule around playing noontime shinny in the rink - which was free for students and faculty. That was gone. We used to get icetime priority for intramurals and played most of our games between 6:30 and 10:30 - when they closed and moved to the forum we were playing intramural games that started at 1:30AM. Disaster. We used to have an insane residence hockey game that packed Memorial to the rafters - that atmosphere completely died with the move to the forum and I'm pretty sure the event doesn't even happen anymore. It's completely unacceptable for a university of Dalhousie's stature to have done what they did and it's always soured me on being a donor (and I've told them as such every single time they call). The opening of the new rink will be a step in the right direction (and I will always support the Tigers) but I will NEVER forgive Spatz, Traves, Fares and their gaggle of idiots for being so stupid and short sighted.
