Antoine Dorion, the son of Ottawa Senators’ GM, was added to the Remparts training camp list. He had slightly better numbers than Evan Boucher and Vincent Labelle in the CCHL at the same age. Looking forward to see what he can do.

He was drafted as a first time eligible (18 y/o) player out of the CHL.
To my understanding he must either play in the CHL or the NHL if he plays in North America... he would not be AHL eligible.
If he had been NHL drafted out of Europe and THEN come to play in North America, then he would be AHL eligible. There are different eligibility rules in the CBA for these players compared to players drafted from major junior.
I guess he would have the option of playing in Russia (KHL, MHL, VHL) if he and Buffalo wished to do so. He's already signed to an Entry Level deal by Buffalo so his contract will slide this season regardless of where he plays unless it is the NHL (unlikely).

It will be interesting to see what they do with their roster. Zachary Bolduc, Nathan Gaucher, James Malatesta, Justin Robidas, and Evan Nause are all NHL drafted and signed.... they are very likely in the AHL next season. They traded Charle Truchon to Rimouski for Simon Maltais, so I'll speculate the plan to use Maltais, given that they traded for him. After that, they've got Daniel Agostino, Davis Cooper, Mikael Huchette, Elliot Lavoie, Charles Savoie, Cam Thomson, Thomas Darcy. Quite a few of those names are "4th line" type guys... and that's a function of a veteran contending team. They'll use a more experienced older guy as a depth and fill in player rather than a younger player. If I were guessing, I'd say they are likely to use some combination of Maltais, Huchette, Savoie or Darcy. But you never really can tell. Guys like Cooper and Agostino are very experienced, veteran guys. Agostino has played in back to back President's Cup finals and Memorial Cups. You just never know how it will shake out with 20's. Sometimes the guys who get the jobs are the ones who work the hardest and are willing to accept whatever role the coach asks. Charlottetown had a glut of 20 y/o players following their run in 2022. A couple of guys who were expected to come back to junior... Will Trudeau and Patrick Guay.... both ended up in the pros. Guay had been traded, but we still had 5+ guys who were legit options for 20 y/o players. If this time last you tried to tell me that Patrick LeBlanc would have more QMJHL games in 22-23 than Dawson Stairs AND Zachary Roy combined, I'd say you are foolish... but that's exactly what happened. You just never know. He's already signed to an Entry Level deal by Buffalo so his contract will slide this season regardless of where he plays unless it is the NHL (unlikely). Exactly what I was looking for - thanks! Likely a dumb question - but the Remparts show 13 - 2003 born players on their training camp roster. As many as 7 or 8 of them could arguably return to the league with some team. Can those players be traded at any time - or do 20 year-olds need to be traded during the set trade periods?

Other overagers Davis Cooper, Elliot Lavoie, Cam Thomson and Thomas Darcy aren’t invited to camp but are available if a team wants them.

He's still Quebec property, so I don't see why not.
He's not a bottom 6 player, so, with this years' Quebec roster, he might actually get a shot to be on PP1 if he makes the team.

They said at the end of the season that he would. It was also mentioned when he left that the door was open for him to return at 19. He should have the opportunity to get much more ice time.

Is he still property of Quebec....can he sign with another team....or does he need to be traded by the Remps? He’s still on their roster on the Q website. I guess they could loan him for another team’s training camp. If they don’t he will probably be put on waivers at the end of the camp.

Pavel Rosa’s son Alex will be at the Remparts camp. Although he shouldn’t have his dad’s numbers in the Q.
